Driver's side power window. Can hear relay click

The window motor use a plastic drive tape to lift and lower the window and over time the plastic wears out or starts to break apart this causes binding and stops the motor from being able to move the window. The door panel will need to be removed to inspect the parts. jcwhitney.com sells a spool of drive tape that will repair 4 window motors. It could also be that the motor has burnt out and will need to be replaced.

Heater core

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Security light on car wont start

The security system (VATS/PassKey) is having problems, it's typical on those cars/years. It's been a nightmare for us. You can find a great write-up here: http://newrockies.ca , it was the only thing that saved my 94 Park Avenue that has the same security system.

Removal & Installation

If the vehicle is not equipped with an air bag, skip Step 1 and simply disconnect the negative battery cable. Also, disregard all instructions below related to air bags.

  1. If equipped, disable the SIR system, as outlined in Section 6 of this manual.
  2. If not already done, disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Lower the steering column; be sure to properly support it.

  1. Position the switch in the OFF-UNLOCKED position. With the lock cylinder removed, the rod is in LOCK when it is in the next to the uppermost detent; OFF-UNLOCKED is 2 detents from the top.
  2. Remove both switch screws, then remove the switch assembly.

The whole switch assembly needs to be replaced and will require the steering wheel to be removed and the air bag to be disabled to prevent it from going off. I not sure what tools you have, but it may be best to have a shop take a look at it.

My left turn signal does not flash. I have

There is only 1 flasher.Since your others work fine, both the flasher and the fuse are good. The first thing to try would be,turn on the blinkers, and jiggle the wire connector to the bulb in the bad signal around in all kinds of directions,it is not necessary to pull hard on it,and if anything is wrong within the connector,it will flash on.Also, inspect the inside where the bulb plugs in for corrosion or water or anything that shouldn't be there. Also, does the brake light in that spot work normal?Does the right side work normal also?Do the hazards work normally except for that one light? These are all related to another possible component within the whole system for all that I asked about.Greg
