04 mitsubishi galant won't start..started off
Sounds like your Timing Chain or Belt Are Damaged and Caused your Ignition Timing to Jump out of Time, Also check your Distributor Cap and rotor NOTE: if you have a Distributor ,Some are Distributorless. Pull your Spark Plugs out BEFORE you Do Locate #1 Plug its in Front of your Engine. And Trace the Wire to the Distributor Cap. If you have a 4 Cylinder #1 is in the First Plug in front of vehicle, if its a V-6 #1 Plug is on Left side first plug in Front. Depending on which engine you have will determine if your wires go into the Distributor cap Clockwise or Counter Clockwise. So BEST to Simply Mark them to get them back in same order. You'll need to Get the Enging to crank over and have a Buddy Put a Compression Gauge in #1 Cylinder and Bring it up to TDC (Top Dead Center) thats when the piston is up and gets the Gauge to Move up then your on the Compression Stroke, Then check distributor rotor to see if its pointed to where your #1 Spark Plug wire came off or at least close to it.Just hit the Ignition Switch off and on Until you have it showing compression on Gauge. JUST ON and OFF that Fast. If the Rotor is pointing To a different Spark Plug Wire in the Cap, Sounds like timing Jumped. Hope this will help you solve your problem or at least find it. If you don't have or not sure on How to do this i recommend you have a Qualified Mechanic Shop run the Tests. Thanks and Good Luck
Have an 04 galant..sometimes when i go to pull off the car jerks back a little bit
Then I would suggest maintaining your vehicle according to the manufacturers recommendations and do what the light is telling you to do. If it has never had a tune-up, I would suppose that it would be safe to assume that it also has never had the timing belt replaced - which makes your engine WAY OVERDUE for BOTH. You are playing with fire my friend. You will be buying an engine very soon if you keep that up!
No heat blowing 2004 Mitsubishi Galant ES
The hot water hose presenting at either end of the heater core doesn't mean coolant flowing through it. It could be stagnant and it doesn't effect you coolant since it is just a branch off.
1- One thing could happen is that heater core is clogged up.
2- The other thing is that there is a valve control temperature knob to allow high or low of hot coolant flowing through the heater core per desired temperature is not operated.
Check these out.
Service engine light is on
Sorry on this one but my alldata book doesnt list this vehicle for anything like this so it obvious the manufacturers have blocked all available data so you have to return the vehilce to a dealer to have the light put out ,any europeon market vehicle from 2005 can only be put out by the dealer using encrypted software so the answer here is stick a bit of black tape over the light .
Labor cost for changing a transmission filter
Changing the filter will also include changing the fluid also. This service will cost you from $50.00 to $90.00 real world depends on where you go for the service. They may try to tack on other charges but stay firm on what it is you want done. If you go to a quick oil change service place, watch out for these other charges. Flush, or Flush kit, these will cost you much more.
My mitsubishi 2004 galant won't
Could be the starter or possibly the ignition. Best way to test the starter is get out a multimeter and check the voltage to the main wire on the starter make sure it's getting 12 volts, then when you try and start see if the solenoid is getting voltage, the solenoid will ONLY get voltage when you are trying to start it. Try that and go from there.
thank you,

Air conditioner blowing hot air
Hello, If the AC compressor clutch is working ok, more troubleshooting will be needed to determine the problem. A set of AC manifold gauges needs to be connected and pressure readings taken. From those results, the faulty componet can be found.... i hope this helps.
