2001 2.4L. Why is white smoke issuing from engine and exhaust?

White smoke is an indication of a bad head gasket and engine coolant getting into a cylinder. Check: - dipstick for coolant mixed with oil - Radiator for coolant level. If coolant on oil or coolant level low, time for some time consuming and costly repairs.

Hello, I have a 2000

it is not an O2 sensor but a heated oxygen sensor that is in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 1 bank 1 is the one against the fire wall it is not a heater as such but has an internal heating system so that it reads the exhaust emissions correctly and adjusts the air /fuel settings in the ECM normally has 4 wires the oxygen sensor (O2S) is after the cat converters and is a completely different sensor to read a different exhaust gas

I HAVE A 1998 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE THAT AT TIMES DOESNT WANT TO START. CHECK ENGIN CODE: P00300-P00304 (CYLINDER MISFIRE, MISFIRE ON CYLINDERS 1-4)

It could be your Cadillac converter. I had the same problem with a 2006 eclipse, driving it it would stop off it i didn't have my foot on the gas, i replaced the converter and the mass air flow sensor and it fired right up and drove fine.
