You have an electrical short issue. Check all your earthing connections to the vehicles body. Check the earthing to the engine and check for any damaged wiring causing to earth on the body. Check your sensors etc. Good luck!!

idling is the the idler valve on the intake usually just needs a clean. as for no power this can be the throttle sensor, if the throttle has blank spots it would cause this problem. if the fuel filter has not been changed in a long time it could need changing, especially if not in the last 5 years., air filter could also need changing if this has not been done for a long time. remove the air filter and check its color if its completely black change it, this can also contaminate the maf sensor, this you can clean with MAF sensor cleaner its best to clean this as it will cause engine problems such as you have. so as to conform do these first. 1. check air filter. 2. clean the idle valve. 3. clean the MAF sensor. do these 3 first before anything ells.

run the fault codes first as that always saves money backfiring is ignition timing or valve timing poor performance could be problem crank position sensor or camshaft position sensor or problem ignition control module but the codes will show the problem area

Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown in figure. Using the 4 step torque turn method, tighten according to the following values.

1. Tighten center fasteners 1 thru 6 to 33 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) . Then outer fasteners 7 thru 10 to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) .

Then tighten all fasteners 1 thru 10 90°turn . Do not use a torque wrench for this step.

Well, it sounds like it is a problem in the fuel pump circuit. A lot of problems don't set a code, but if you know someone with a code reader or scanner, or if you get it running to drive it to Autozone or O'Reillys, Pep Boys, or most auto parts stores , you can get a free code scan service. Only takes a few seconds, good to know if your engine computer has detected anything. So you put a new pump in. If it turns on, it should put enough fuel pressure up to the engine. Here's how to check if the pump is turning on as it should to start the car: turn the ignition key to on, not start, and listen for the fuel pump to turn on for 2 seconds. You should hear a hum or buzz from the tank for about 2 seconds. If you do hear it, and the fuel filter is not plugged up, the engine should have enough gas to start. If the filter is not plugged up, and the only way to start the engine is with starting fluid, then the problem may be in the fuel injector circuit. Now if you do not hear the fuel pump turn on (2 seconds) with key in on, then the problem is in the fuel pump circuit. This can be difficult to diagnose, not feasible without a voltmeter and a wiring diagram of the car, so you would probably need experienced help. If you put the pump in yourself, you are a good gear head. buy a digital voltmeter and a repair manual and go to learning while you fix it your self.

You can't rule that out, a computer failure, but some testing would have to be done to truly determine the cause.
