CAR WON,T START, TILL I
SRS is your safety restraint system for your airbags and so on. If your having to jump start your car I would look into the alternator or battery. It is normal for the srs light to come on when you first regain power. If it is staying on though you may be having an issue with the safety system.
The dashboard show SRS
It sounds like 2 different problems. The dead battery is most likely caused by a bad alternator or an "Ignition-Off Draw" (Something staying on after the ignition is turned off) The SRS light means that there is a problem with your Supplemental Restraint System. This could be caused by an airbag circuit or a seat belt pretensioner circuit. You will have to scan your Restraint System Module to find out why it has turned the light on.

if it has ever been driven low on tranmission fluid this could be a bad sign, check the fluid level, assuming it is and has been full this could mean your internal clutches are worn, and tranmission will have to be rebuilt or replaced, the color and scent of the fluid are good indicators of burnt clutches, if it is more brown than red, and smells burnt...thats bad news

think you damaged the alternator ,its been flashed the wrong way around ,now inside the alternator is a zena diode which should stop any damage from occuring ??? BUT i do feel yours wasnt fitted or for whatever reason you have cooked the alternator and damaged the diodes causing you alternator to discharge the battery
My car smokes and uses about half a litre of oil
Hi
It sounds like a ring problem
There is a time in an engines life (just before it packs up) when it runs like a dream because the rings are creating very little friction against the bore of the engine block.
Look at the cost of an engine rebuild versus a second hand engine (with it's unknown faults) or maybe think about letting it go.
Tough choice good luck
I have a 1997
just go to autozone.com type in your car and go to batteries, it will give you the size for your car.
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant with rough idle
I am having the same issue on Mitsubishi Galant 02. Clattering on acceleration, herky jerky idle. Pulled a code multiple cylinder misfire. My mechanic's diagnosis is bad valve cover gasket causing oil to seap into the spark plugs and bad timing belt, which I have not replaced at 150k miles. I do however know my fuel injectors do need cleaning, he hasn't ruled that out either. Have you pulled any code on it? I have read on engine knock sensor going out on some of these also. Hope this helps some.
Need to know the timing marks
The timing marks are inside the belt cover. You have to bring the #1 piston all the way to the top of it's travel, this is called Top Dead Center or TDC. All other timing critical pulleys are marked, if you can't see them, clean them.
