Is there a fuel cut-off or inertia switch on the 1993 Mitsubishi Diamante and if yes, where?

Check the supply to the pump and if there is a supply the pump is probably faulty. If there is no supply check the fuse, the relay and wiring. If there is an inertia switch they tend to be hidden in the spare wheel well or behind the front passenger footwell kick panel. The wiring diagram in the repair manual would show the switch if there is one but the vehicle handbook is mostly where details will be found.

My 1993 Mitsubishi Diamante (SOHC)

Is there a white label under the hood, called the Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI sticker)? That label will tell if your vehicle has California or Federal Emissions controls. ` That is the information you need to go by. No, you are not necessarily damaging the car by driving with the light on. A flashing light means danger, but a steady light is okay to drive car, just fix ASAP.Go back and find an ecu with the original number that was in the car. I think the parts place might be mistaken. Retrieving the codes is neither difficult or expensive, but it does require using an analog voltmeter (the kind with a needle, and not a digital type) -which are very cheap almost anywhere-Walmart, Ace Hardware, etc. for under $10. Here is a link to how to do this (very easy) and what all the codes mean. (There are only 24 possible codes). The article also tells how to turn light off-by disconnecting battery for 2 minutes.https://www.2carpros.com/articles/mitsubishi-trouble-code-definitions-and-retrieval-procedure-for-odb1-system

1993 Mitsubishi Diamonte. Do you have to remove

Yes. to replace the wheel bearings on any car you must ether remove the break drum or the rotors. The inner bearings will be on the spindle and the race will be in the drum or on the rotor. Furthermore, you must replace the bearing races as well. Don't forget to pack the bearings with a high quality grease. If you are unfamiliar with any of these steps let me know.

Timing Belt

It is semi difficult. The timing belt on the v 6 dohc is one of the longest timing belts you will ever see, It winds around one double set of cam pulleys, down around the crankshaft pulley through a belt tensioner, back up around the other set of double camshaft pulleys, then back down around the water pump pulley and finally back up to the camshaft pulleys where you started. It is of utmost importantce that all the timing marks are lined up properly and that the belt tensioner is properly set when you have the new belt on. If you have a lot of patience and some previous engine work under your belt it should be within your ability. You will be taking off all the timing covers on the front of the motor , the front drive pully off the crankshaft, all the accesory belts off, undue the alternator and shift it out of the way , the front motor mount comes off, the power steering belt tensioner has to come off, It is best to jack the car up on stands with support under the oil pan because of the released motor mount. take off the driver side wheel and wheelwell undercovers for access. Take pictures, label all wiring you disconnect, it is a good idea to replace the timing belt tensioner with the belt and maybe the water pump also to avoid going through this pain soon. Get a Chilton or Haynes manual for reference. In other words it is a *****!!!!! But If you tackle the job, get it back together and the car runs , you will be proud,

Need to know how to

you can't syphon the gas out on these vehicles. They have a ball that is in the metal hose on the gas tank to keep any large object out of the tank. Your best bet would be to drop the tank, and take the fuel pump out and dump all the old fuel. Hope this helps, James Booth
