hi, you should take it to a shop that has the alignment tool, any other way will not adjust right and you will end up there anyway.

Rockauto on the internet, I looked up spindle nut, it showed 34 mm. I can't guarantee that is correct. Hopefully the autostore isn't too far away so if you get the wrong size socket just take it back and switch it. In the past, I was changing out halfshaft on different vehicle, bought a new socket for old spindle nut. Turns out the spindle nut on the new/rebuilt halfshaft was a different size, I was not happy.

Does the air blow cold? Sounds more like a sign of undercharged. Putting gauges on it would be the best step.

Failsafe mode will shut the vehicle off to save the engine if it is over heating . Do you know if the vehicle has electronic throttle control ? Was their a yellow wrench symbol lit on the instrument cluster as well ?

I drove Volvos for 17 years. Finally learned that a New battery had a short. Meanwhile, I'd changed out alternators. Switched it to a generator. It was a bad battery, from the get go. Just a thought.

Are you saying the blower motor stops working? That might be a sign of bad brushes in the blower motor? If that is the case, replace the blower motor. You could check the wiring connector for blower motor. In the past, I have taken faulty blower motor apart, and those little brushes were wore down to the nub. A bump can cause the brushes to make better contact, or lose contact in your case. Could be other issues, the blower motor needs voltage and ground. Just my opinion.
