Why is the ignition key not turning to start my 2006 chevy colorado? Also the stering column will not lock when turned. this occurred suddenly after parking the vehicle. I am unable to start the ve

I assume you have kids and that's why you want to lock it and keep it secured either your kids jammed something in that ignition switch and messed something up. So I would take a good flash light and peer down into that key ignition hole and see if anything is blocked in there. if so or a bad ignition switch, you need disconnect the battery and remove the bottom dash plate from the steering wheel and you will have to disconnect the ignition cable from the ignition switch and take out the ignition by unscrewing the securing screws that hold that ignition in, best to get a mechanic book made for that make and model.

Fluxuating idle

You may have a dirty Idle Air Control valve that has carbon build up. These are often easy to remove (couple screws) and clean using either Carb and Choke cleaner or Mass Air flow sensor cleaner (Warning! Spray on a rag and then use the area to clean just the rubber tip of the valve. You should also clean the orifice where the valve mounts into the throttle body to allow smooth operation. Might be best to remove air inlet hose from the air filter box to the throttle body and clean the throttle plates at the same time also by spraying rag and wiping them down.

How do i get new door keys?

Dealer items. You can have them copied but that threw the alarm in mine. Best bet is to use the fob and only use key to start.

2006 chev colorado Oxygen sensor burns out

Interesting. Are you getting a trouble code for the sensor ?Under normal conditions the tip inside the exhaust will look burned from the high heat of the exhaust gas, but nothing should be melting.A fuel injection system can not vapor lock, but a leaking injector can cause the exhaust to be too rich. Same thing if the air filter is clogged up.

The truck will not start

mine "will" do this - it is related to the passlock anti theft system - you can wait appox 10 minutes and it will start - the only way I have found to stop this from happening is to turn the key first and then push in the clutch to start and it starts everytime - if you have an automatic maybe you could change your starting "routine" order and get the same results.

Do you need to resetreplacing an engine coil the computer after changing an engine coil?

To shut off the check engine light you have to clear the code out of the computer. Or continue driving it till it goes through 3 drive cycles without seeing a concern and it should shut of, if the coil repaired the concern.I always reset the computer and the k.a.m (keep alive memory) when I do c.e.l repair. Some vehicles still running in fail safe mode if this isn't do
