You put in the key and turn it to start and it will not do anything.you have to take a ***** driver and jump it across the starter.sometimes it will start right away others it takes forever.

There is a starter/crank fuse in the drivers side fuse panel. Also a starter relay under the hood. In the fuse panel. If both of these are good, replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission.

Why my 2005 impala wont start

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment. If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money. Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for. These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause. 1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on. 2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on. 3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off. 4) If all of these things check good, then you would need to do a complete compression test. Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out, you will know which system is having the problem.

2005 Chevy impala brake pedal pulsation with brand new rotors installed

Is your ABS working properly? Under heavy braking the ABS should engage and 'pulse' the brakes on/off. It is normal to feel the brake petal flutter or pulse under your foot. Under light braking there should be no pulsing as the ABS does not engage and you have changed the rotors and pads.

Coolant fans will not shut off

See the two fuses in the diagram, underhood fuse block, pulling those fuses should kill the fans till you figure out what is going on. Check for applicable trouble codes, There are a bunch of codes for the cooling fans. To check codes, yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader. Some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free. Also, check the coolant temp sensor. At the moment I can't tell if you have a relay problem--sensor problem, maybe a code will point us in the right direction? 26123714-45dufxssddhbjjkargltbta5-5-0.jpg

Measure the inflated diameter and width of new wheel assembly, and compare to existing wheel sizes on vehicle, check offset at hub area, also. You may find a comparison chart for tire diameter and width by doing a google.com search.

3800. Where is the oil pressure sending unit located?

I'm not familiar with your vehicle. However, an oil pressure sender unit is usually located on the block, below the cylinder head. it's more often than not a screw - in unit which may have a brass appearance and have 1 or more electrical wires coming from it. Here is a link which will show you generic images of sender units: oil pressure sender unit Google Search They are -usually - just screw-in items. They are not difficult to change. My cluster on my 05 Impala isn't working, the gas gauge and temp gauge is not where they are suppose to be the speedometer works. How can I reset it without buying another cluster?

To my knowledge there is no reset. Most likely the stepper motors on the back of the cluster for those functions are bad. If you search the web you can find the motors and instruction on how to replace. From GM you would have to replace the cluster.

Cannot get defrost to blow air on windshield

like the blower motor doesnt come on or does it blow cold air. If it is that it blows warm air and then it blows no air, it is most likey ur control switch, if it does this again or have you ever tried to turn the switch to low or medium or high when it does this, try that see if it works on the other settings if it does your switch has a short and will need to be replaced.

I am replacing the PCV

I have the same problem on my '05, bracket holding down pcv valve, no way to get it off. There is alot of confusion online about this. Most "expert" mechanics have never heard of it. They just say "pull it out" or "I've never heard of this". Not gonna happen. Mine is leaking oil, so it needs to come out, possibly replace an o-ring. I an going to try and clip/cut the bracket and bend it so the valve can slide past. Insert new valve, bend back, maybe add a little jb weld at the joint. What I've read online is that dealers say the whole valve cover needs to come off to access the underside of the bracket.

Power windows dont work

There is a circuit breaker for power windows . Power Window System Components The power window system consists of the following components: ?€¢ Driver Door Switch (DDS)

?€¢ Passenger Door Switch (PDS)

?€¢ Body Control Module (BCM)

?€¢ Rear door power window switches

?€¢ Power window motors in each of the doors

?€¢ PWR WDO Circuit Breaker

Power Window System Controls The power window system will operate anytime the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system is active or when the ignition switch is in the ACCY or ON position. The driver master control switches are integrated into the DDS. When a power window switch is activated in the up or down positions the DDS supplies power and ground to the window motor control circuits to drive the window motor in the required direction. Prior to activating a power window motor the DDS will supply the control circuit with a low current bias voltage in order to determine that a short to ground condition does not exist and during window motor operation the DDS continues to monitor the motor current to verify proper window motor operation. The DDS controls the passenger window by a serial message to the PDS. When a power window switch is activated in the up or down positions the PDS supplies power and ground to the window motor control circuits to drive the window motor in the required direction. Prior to activating a power window motor the PDS will supply the control circuit with a low current bias voltage in order to determine that a short to ground condition does not exist, and during window motor operation the PDS continues to monitor the motor current to verify proper window motor operation. (Scan tool support is available for this system Check this circuit breaker RETAINED ACCSRY PRW BRKR 30 amp. located in the left instrument panel fuse box . if the breaker is good check power B+ at the drivers door switch . connector 1 terminal b yellow wire . Sometimes the wires inside the rubber boot coming from body to door break .
