do taillights?fuse is blown for running lights,and check bulbs they go in bunches,if none of these are bad the printed circuit is bad on cluster,clusters are easy to change,youtube has instructions,buy it from ebay

fuel pump is bad,your relay will be also from trying to start pump.there is an outside chance your relay is bad,easier to change that first

There are more things that can cause a random misfire then the ignition system; even though it is the most common reason.. Have you checked the ignition coil's maximum output; it should be no less then 25KV (25,000 volts). Yes the wrong PCV could cause an intermittent misfire; likely a lean misfire; the valve might be drawing to much vacuum. Other things are engine mechanical; low compression, worn valve guides, worn/loose timing belt, or just general overall engine wear. The fuel system; low fuel pressure, low fuel volume, plugged or leaking fuel injectors, injector(s) beginning to fail electrically, injector drivers (computer). The exhaust system; a converter partially plugged; as in the monolith catalyst inside the converter is breaking up into pieces and intermittently plugging up the outlet of the converter. This could also answer the EGR flow insufficient code?

Tune up,bad coils,bad wire,fuel filter,air filter.

If you have been bleeding it correctly(it is bled using same procedure as brakes just with the clutch pedal) you might need the clutch slave cylinder. It does take a good couple hours to bleed one of these using the conventional two person method so it could still need bleeding but if it is taking to long and your initial symptoms were brake fluid disappearing and you could not visually see the leak from a line or master cylinder then it is leaking from the clutch slave cylinder located in between the clutch and transmission. The transmission would have to be removed.

The other two wires should also show voltage and ground. With the key on. Check the wires with the wires. Being a 98. You probably should have 12 volts on two wires and ground on the other two. But at least one of the grounds is run in the computer. Just a note. Voltage on the other wire could be 5, 8 or 12 volts, but it should be grounded through the computer, not the body/ negative side of the battery.. It's been a while since I worked on a 98.

Shift cable starts in the steering column and runs down to the shift lever on the tranny. The sleeve that the cable runs thru can break or come loose. It has to be attached and secured along its line or else it will just flex instead of pushing and pulling the shift lever underneath. After checking that, make sure the support bracket at the steering column end is tight. over years of moving that lever up and down, it loosens the bolts of the support. This makes the lever feel loose and usually throws the red gear marker off of the lettering. There is a thin thread in the column with a thumb screw or dial that turns to adjust the marker to line up on the letters or numbers. If that shift cable is not perfectly aligned , you could be putting a lot of strain on your transmission. The fluid passages are small, and if the are not lining up 100% in each gear, you will wear it out. You will see a steady decrease in acceleration and power. Good luck.

Try replacing your turn signal flasher if all bulbs and fuses are good.

You will need to loosen the back two cab mounts and remove the front two. Then remove the core support mounts. That will make it possible to lift the cab about six inches. Then you can access Tue bell housing bolts.

Should be a single grey or tan/white wire with a single plastic connector...usually located on the firewall close to some relays..can be by the brake master cylinder or the opposite side by the heater/AC unit

check all the rubber bushes ,and check your universal joint on your prop shaft bearing may be worn.

Reset is ten minutes on 30 seconds off. Relearn is ten minutes on, thirty seconds off times three. Don't try to start for the relearn. HAve it on a charger for the relearn also..

Its your electrical side of the ignition switch, it's a very common problem for this year model
