My head light on my 1998 Chevy malibu went out but when I replace the bulb it still wont work

When you replaced bulb, all wiring and bulb connector looked good,no corrusion, wires not burned or strayed. With dim lights, means just a little power going to light bulb.Did you check the fuse in fuse box, could be a loose connectoion, check both fuses, left and right headlight.swap them out and see,if fuses are good then,it may be the headlight switch, which cost the most. Here's a link on how to replace. Here's the part.

Car will not shift out of park

You could try it with the key switch in the unlock position but not on.The problem could be the brake switch, the solenoid that locks the shifter in park, or a fuse.It would also be very difficult to get out of park on a steep hill if the parking brake was not set first.

98 malibu won't start

Recommend to locate the crank pulley on the front of the motor. This pulley should be about 5 to 10 inches in diameter, and it usually is the pulley closest to the ground. It is on the front of the engine, but your engine being crosswise, that may mean the passenger side of the car. This pulley drives the serpentine belt.In the middle of this pulley is a large bolt that holds the pulley on. Find a socket to fit that bolt, and a long extension handle to fit that socket. You will need to be under the car to do this. There may be plastic shields in your way. Try to turn this bolt Clockwise, as you are wanting to turn the crankshaft, not loosen the bolt. If the crankshaft turns, the engine should not be "froze up". If that pulley won't turn, the motor may be "gone".

Reduce power lite comes on on my 1998 malibu

It's possible the PCM fuse in the drivers side fuse panel has no power. The power distribution drawings they have are incomplete. Try to put a jumper wire between the radio fuse and the PCM fuse. The instrument cluster will come on and the engine will start.. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------card for gm tech2

If u installed a new radio that's your problem. The back of the radio harness that connects to the vehicles wire harness, look for the two orange wires, one is orange with a white stripe. They should read dimmer in small font on the wire. Simply connect the wires completing the circuit.

Replaced starter, alternater and battery car still drains battery. whats wrong?

First you can not test an alternator by disconnecting the battery cable. That is what we did back when cars had generators. Today you can fry the computer and alternator running the engine with the battery cable off.Meanwhile, I would look for a fuseable link or main fuse problem. The alternator circuit may not be connected to the fuse box and battery.
