Does my car have a black box?

No, not as such. It does have a recored of the events that led up to and accident, if the airbags are deployed (crash Data) which is recorded in the airbag control unit. If the car does not have airbags, then it does not have any data storage capabilities.

Overheating indicator flashes, but has oil, water.

Hi. The contacts in the Coolant bottle get contaminated and then don't pick up the water level. Brige the contacts at the water botlle and start the car, if the coolant/temp light behaves for 5 min or so after starting the car, then change the coolant bottle/resevoir.

Where do relays go

Do you still have the owners manual in the glove box? That will usually show the location or you can go to Autozone/Oreilly's and buy a Chiltons manual which will show the relay configuration.

Where is the resistor wire located and how do i replace it?

If you are talking the resistor wire to the coil from the ignition switch then it is in the wiring loom and will be virtually impossible to replace. If you are electrical savvy you can by pass it by connecting a wire to either end of it and through a ceramic resistor before the coil. However as this wire is seldom at fault I would first check it out with a multimeter first checking the voltage at the coil with the ignition on and secondly by the ohms resistance of the wire by attaching the multimeter leads to each end

1996 vw 2.0 aba starts runs great for about 15min then goes into a rough idle and dies almost like its not getting enough gas ?

Does the car have any check engine codes? Usually if the car runs poorly when warmed up, its because the computer tries to put the car into "closed loop mode" when it's up to operating temp but something is wrong. When engine is cold, the ECU uses the coolant temp sensor to adjust fuel mixture, when warm, it switches to O2 sensor and monitors other systems like EGR, etc. In my experience I've seen this be anything from O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, or EGR valve. Could be a dirty throttle body too, as this is a common issue on the ABA engine.
