Are there any other rear lights out? If so, there is a 7.5 amp fuse which could be the issue. If not, the only 2 issues that would cause this would be, bad bulb/socket, or broken wire going to both lamps for the license plate lights. Check the bulbs first and let me know. The interior fuse block under the dash(driver's side) would be the likely location for that fuse. Let me know.

check to see if your firing order is correct

A front wheel drive.

either the gauge is failing or the ground wire to the fuel gauge in the tank is failing or you need the whole thing.

First scan the computer any codes will be indicators of the problem... if no codes check the vacumn hoses for breaks. cracks, unplugged, etc. especially the brake power booster hose... this is the big cylinder plate looking object that is mounted opn the rear of the brake master cylinder.

add 50/50 mix of anti freeze start with a 50/50 gallon then after it warms and stat opens add the additional 1/2 gallon approx. of 50/50water/anti freeze needed to fill the radiator and expansion tank

i dont know how common , but i had a few with latch problems,both neede replacing, theres a spring that let go and wouldnt latch after shutting the trunk,and also had one that latched before the trunk was closed and all that need was to turn the key in the lock and pop latch back open,

The plug gap should be listed on a placard under the hood and in your owner's manual. The correct plug gap is .044 if you cannot find either.

The screeen is inside the pan, i would just clean it. If there are any large amount of debris on the screen or in the pan, you have other problems.

The fuel pump in a 2001 mitsubishi mirage is located in the fuel tank.The tank must come down to replace the pump module.This will involve removing the tank to replace the pump module......any other questions please get back to me at your earliest convience.....thanks.....

If check engine light is on, have the codes read by your mechanic or local auto parts superstore.

Some automobiles have a switch on the dashboard or on the gear shift that activates the overdrive function on or off.
