Hello, There is a website call club3g. It is basically a forum for people that own 3g mitsubishi eclipse. I'm not sure which engine is in the 2000 montero but there will most likely be a step by step walk through on how to replace a water pump. Most of the solutions there have detailed pictures and good explainations. Granted this is a forum so you will get good and bad info. Once you get to the site, go to the search bar and put in your engine size(liter) and water pump. Example- (3.8 water pump)

check for loose hoses. evap purge valve .. Are you fitting a non-vented cap which is what you will be needing. replace the purge valve.
