When i start the car it wont start. seems like

It could be a bad ground or the starter solenoid itself. Take the starter to any parts store and they will test the starter for free....plus while you are under there, you can check your cables to the starter and see what the condition of them are in.

I have a 1998 motero and i just replace the

always check your fuses before replacing a part. You might also find a fuse that does not belong(higher rated fuse than specified in the users guide) if you bought a used car or the car had someone who didn't make all the payments or traded it back in, the components these fuses protect could be damaged.

Left turn signal wont turn off and right one wont turn on.

You need to replace the blicker switch. The metal contact on your blinker switch is not being moved when you switch it over because its a little plastic bump that snapped off. You'll have to take the plastic molding around your steering column off before you do this. Most screws are behind plastic plugs in the molding that hide the screws.

How to change horn on 1998 montero sport

Just changed my horns on my 98 Montero Sport and come to find out it was the horn relay. The horn relay is located near your power steering resivour its a small black square you will see some electrical lines running to it. Give it a couple taps and then try out your horn again. If that dosnt work your horns are located right behind your turn signals on your front bumper, they are circluar 3in and golden colored. You can get dealer ship replacement horns for 30 plus dollars or go to a autozone or advance auto and get aftermarket ones

Iol consumption

you car has noisy lifters......"the tapping sound"........noisy lifters can sometimes be fixed by using aftermarket products like "RISLONE" or other simillar to it...

how old were the sparkplugs? maybe they were too old and the engine was fooling them...causing loss of power and knocking.......and **** to build on the rods...

is there water in the oil?.....sometimes when the head gasket has blown....there will be water "coolant" in the oil......

"have you checked the compression in all four cylinders"?
if you havent you should.......as engines get older.....they loose compression due to their owners...not changing the oil when they should....or also due to dirt getting inside the engine........thus causing the engine to make friction by using these particles in oil and then scratching the cylinder walls leading to oil comsumption........

the oil comsumption...........i think unless you wanna overhaul your 4 cylinder......you try using some aftermarket products......"only if you feel desperate"........you can always try using a higher SAE oil as these heavier oils will reduce oil comsumption......

i would say 10w30...if you are using 5w30..as i wouldnt try 10w40...in such a small engine......

ask a local mechanic...he can tell you what SAE of oil you should use...........i really hope this helps...good luck !

Military here and working on a foreign car and not a hummer haha. have a 1998 montero sport. bad starter, replaced and now can arc silinoid to fire starter which would only spark before i replaced but

Check the condition of the power and ground cables, Bypass the cables with a set of jumper cables, connect the NEG post to the engine with the black cable, and POS to the Starter Solenoid with the red cable. then try it if it starts the cables are bad or poorly connected.

check the battery voltage in stand by and cranking, try jump starting the truck. if the truck will start with a jump the battery could be bad.
If the starter solenoid is separate from the starter then it is possible the solenoid is bad.

Hope this is of some help.

Mitsubishi Montero Sport craknshaft pulley

If it's damaged, you can usually tap it out from one end with a punch or small chisel. It's usually made from case hardened steel and you should not attempt to drill it.
