Shakes when driving
This could be a lot of things. The first thing to check is the tires. Make sure they are not flat spotted from sitting too long .Then you need to check motor mounts and make sure they are not broken or loose. There are many things that could be causing this.
1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport will not run correctly after replacing alternator
My first thought was that when he replaced the alternator, he tightened up the bolt that holds the wire on too tight, snapping off the wire on the inside, these are to be only snug, not really tight. I now would have to say that the alt is grounding out on the inside, causing a short between battery hot and ground, which means charge sometimes, sometimes not with the shortcut wire on. Check to make sure your battery is in good condition and will hold a charge. Do not tighten that wire down real tight, its easy to break off. Once the lock washer flattens out, give 1/16 of a turn, no more.
Truck loses power in rain/wet weather
Change the fuel filter. If that doesn't do it then focus on the ignition components. See if there is a code in the computer, clear it and re-read it.
It shut off while i was turning. now turnes over
Electrical issue, had the same problem wih mine I just won't pay the dealer or whoever cause they are asking to much to check the entire electrical system, in 12 years this has happened 3 times and it's scary making a full turn and your car turns off......
The car is showing brake on dashboard and att, what
Alternator is not charging properly most likely due to a front camshaft seal leaking onto it and damaging it if you dont fx the leak it will keep messing up the alt if you stick your hamd on the bottom of the alt you will find the oil
I have a 98 mitsubishi montero sport having it serviced mecanic said carrier bearing is going out. I thought thayt was just on big trucks with split drive shafts. is there one on my suvh
You will need a blanket and a flashlight. One way to get the truck high enough to look under it is to drive either the right side wheels or the left side wheels up onto a curb. Then get under it and look halfway between the end of the transmission and the rear axle pumpkin. A carrier bearing is the round thing about half way between these two.Just a little more information. The carrier bearing is found roughly about the place where the back of the front seat is above you. The carrier bearing is likely the size of a breakfast cereal bow,l, .The pumpkin is the big gear holder exactly in the middle between the rear wheels, and is about the size of a large dinner plate.Your vehicle is old enough to need one if you have not had it replaced yet. These normally will give you some notice of their failure, such as a vibration or noise of some kind, be not in every case.Be blessed.
