dealerships charge way too much. use an online source for less than half what a dealer would charge you for a simple procedure. all you have to do is remove the face over the radio and pull the radio out to find serial & model numbers. then an online source will send you the code. just be sure you read serial & model numbers correctly.

Tail light, backup light and dashboard light will not light up??

I have a 1998 Eclipse Spyder GST. When I turn on my headlight the dash light and tail light DOES not light up. I checked fuses and they are good. I put a meter to the fuse (15amp) in the engine bay for "Tail Lamp" no reading. I just found out that when reversing, back up light does not come on either. Is there another master fuse controlling these three fuses? Everything else seems to working fine. Radio is good, interior dome is good, turn signals are good, hazard is good. Please help?? Need wiring diagram.

ETACS
(Electronic Time and Alarm Control System)

as far as the rear defroster, it may be the switch, relay, or fuse.

i have all of the service info on mediafire.com , just click this LINK and download whatever you need. i would suggest these 2 sections for fixing your problem:

I have a 95 Eclipse and I recently had to change out my TCU........ Transmission Control Unit, This should be located directly beneath the center console. First I would have the transmission services if problem persist then proceed to changing out the TCU you can get off of ebay. As far as i know there should be 3 Computers in our cars. 1 the Electronic Control Unit located behind radio 2 Transmission Control Unit located under center console and 3 Airbag Control Unit located under hood, Hope this helps.

Eclipse GST 1997/ car running fine then terrible/ 4 codes

I was driving my 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST turbo yesterday and it was running fine I turned it off and ran into the store for 5 minutes when i came out and started my car it started running terrible. The idle dropped down to about 400 rpm and the car was running extremely rich. When I hit the gas the car would spudder like it wasnt running on all the cylinders I had no power and while trying to drive it , it would make a even pounding sound out of the exhaust the sound was not erratic but on time like a even spudder. I hooked up my Actron scanner and pulled these 5 codes P0115 (eng coolant temp circuit malf) P0110 (IAT sensor circuit malf) P0100 (MAF or VAF circuit malf) P0105 (MAP /BARO circuit malf) P1105 ( Manufac control Fuel air Metering) .. Other things I noticed ...before this all happened I noticed sometimes when I go to start the car it would not turn over right away it would just make a clicking sound, I would have to turn the key off and on a few times and then it would turn over and start. Also now when i start the car I notice my colling fan is on even though the temperature is below Cold. I also went down to autozone and bought a reman Air flow Meter and put it on. It made no difference at all.. Does the problem sound like a bad ECU? Any advice would help thanks

Where is the starter relay on a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse?

I replaced the starter, but it still won't start. Others are suggesting it might be the starter relay. I don't know where it is. I have a Haynes, but I can't locate it. I can go from the positive battery cable to the solenoid and it starts right up.

P1494 code can cause by EGR lift sensor.

When the engine is cold, disconnect the EGR sensor connector and clean the contacts.

Reconnect the EGR connector and reset code.

================

If the code does come back then I will clean the carbon under the EGR valve (or replace it)/
the EGR air passage MUST be clean also.

Please order a EGR base gasket before you start this job.

It's very time consuming but it preventive you must do.

This should free up the movement on the EGR.

I will ran a FULL TANK of Chevron gas to clean out the injector also.

Reset the code and you should be fine.

Please post more information on the comment window.

1997 eclipse dash lights not

1997 eclipse dash lights not working i know there are two fuse boxes i dont know which one o look at and which fuse it is help?

Your tail lights, license plate ights, and side marker lights are protected by the same fuse that supplies power to the dash lights. Hint: if your other lights are working, the fuse is NOT blown and you don't have to spend time looking for it.

The next thing that deserves mention is the fact that the dash lights are controlled by the dash light rheostat (dimmer switch). Make sure you don't have them turned off with the switch.

If after reading the above, you still think you need to find the fuse, it is fuse #5 (15 Amp) located in the dedicated fuse and relay box in the engine compartment. It is most likely marked "Taillight Relay".
