I have a 1999 Montero with only 1 key. It will not

get rid of it! i have owned a 2001 montero sport since brand new. when they run good they run good! but any kind of repairs are way too expensive! $600 for a tune up is crazy. i did a tune up on my chrysler 3.5 engine in about a half hour and cost about $40 in parts. they do not offer repair books by chilton or haynes because they want you to go to mitsubishi for repairs. my friend who owns a repair shop DOES NOT work on mitsubishi's if he can help it! to have to take off the intake and throttle body to replace spark plugs is crazy. had i known i would NEVER have bought a montero sport! the maintenance cost are WAY TOO HIGH!!!!

My 6G74 GDI mitsubishi pajero

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

It can be the electrical. If you have a faulty coil pack there will be no current to the plug wires. Remove the rotor cap where the plug wires are attached to gain access to the coil pack. Remove the coil pack and install a new one. This can help bring the current back to the plugs.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Alarm code # 1750 & 0705 in the scanner

OBD Code P1750 = Solenoid Assembly / Manufacturer Control Transmission.

I tell you it is infact your solenoid box assemble is going. What that does is to tell your transmission when to shift into gears. Im assuming your car is having a hard time shifting gears and juts need replace this part.

OBD Code P0705 = Transmission Range Sensor circuit (PRNDL - Input).

I'll check the Neutral Safety Switch. It's located on the shift shaft of the trans, and is a common problem. Also check the wiring leading to the switch, as it is exposed to road grime and has been known to corrode and melt.

Also can review this DTC P0705.

Hope helps.

1999 monterro wont start after

Hi, it may be the battery will not accept a charge or the alternator is not changing. Can you check the voltage at the battery with the car running? If the voltage is less than 14 volts DC, the alternator is not charging. You would need to check the alternator fuses, and if they are good have the alternator tested. If the voltage is at least 14 with the engine running, the battery needs to be replaced. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

1999 montero p0421 fault Need 2

Efectivelly, DTC P0421 (Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)) basically means that the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter on bank 1 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system.

You will likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms. The code may be more likely to occur after the engine has had numerous cold starts in the past 1-2 days.

A code P0421 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
* An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
* A sparkplug is fouled up

The catalytic converter change is the more drastic work; first I suggest test this other possible solutions:
* Measure the voltage at the oxygen sensor on Bank 1 (the rear sensor, or the sensor after the converter). In fact, it would be a good idea to test each oxygen O2 sensor while you're at it.
* One thing to note is that many vehicle manufacturers offer a longer warranty on emissions-related parts. So if you have a newer car but it's out of it's bumper-to-bumper warranty, there still may be warranty on this type of problem. Many manufacturers give a five year, unlimited mileage warranty on these items. It's worth checking into.

I think that the price is very expensive, so I suggest check parts in this site montero-catalytic-converter and contact someone this Autoshop List.

Hope helps.
