How do you remove a brake drum from a 2002 Mazda tribute lx

If it doesn't have a bolt or screw that hold it to the axle then the drum may have a grove cut in it from the rivits from the worn pads . In the rear side of the drum plate you should find a rubber plug , remove it and them you will have to use what's called a brake spoon to adjust the brakes down until the drum will come off . Be careful turning it one way loosens the other way tightens it

Where is DPFE sensor 2002 mazda tribute V-6

Between the engine and firewall. there is a metal tube that connects to the exhaust manifold and the EGR valve. EGR is close to the throttle body. On this tube you will see two other tubes coming off it, with rubber hoses attached. On the other end of the rubber hoses is the DPFE sensor. It has an electrical plug, wit two wires.

Can an EGR valve be tested to check for failure ?

without doing the above reply I suggest hook a computer to it, or troubleshoot, is there plenty of exhaust coming out of your tailpipe, 2. is your cat hot? are you getting terrible mileage, is the engine performance slow and if you have all of these replace the valve.

EGR valve Mazda 2002 V-6 Tribute replacement

  1. Remove the EGR valve.
  1. Disconnect the vacuum line.
  2. Disconnect the EGR tube.
  3. Remove the EGR valve and discard the gasket.
NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Carefully clean all sealing surfaces and install a new EGR valve gasket.

Hi Clive, The answer to your question is not a simple one. It could be possible if the place of the repair is relatively easily accessible. Since the Helicoil do not require rethreading or tapping the hole, it is possible. Here is a descriptive video on how it is done.

Engines problems

You seem to be running RICH ,that's the white smoke. It sounds like you may have a bad MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. Is the check engine light on? Get some one with a scanner to check the code or codes. GOOD LUCK FIEND.

I have a 2008 Mazda tribute when I put the key in and turn it it lights up as normal but when I turn it to crank it nothing happens... In the pass I would put the key in while turning it and it would

It could be any of several things. I would start out with some basic testing. Battery good? If yes, then ignition switch. When you turn the key, it makes a connection from the key switch to the solenoid. Check with a test light at the switch and at the solenoid (on top of the starter). If no light at the started, try running a wire from the battery to the solenoid. Does it click/turn over? If no, then maybe starter. . It's rather like a chain. If all the links are good, then it will start. If any of the links are broken, then it won't. Sometimes a "click" can help you identify where that chain is broken.
