You don't say if you replaced the electrical ignition switch or the key and tumbler. You should have done the electrical part. The main problem you have is you are replacing parts and not fixing the problem. These types of problems are tough due to the fact the problem is not always there. You need To determine the main cause. What do you have to do to start the car when the failure occurs? You may have a dead spot in the starter it self, a bad copnnection at the battery, starter or the grounds. I know it is not easy but try to determine the problems cause then you'll save money on the parts.

I HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE CLUTCH ON MY 91 MUSTANG AND
Sounds to me like the clutch disc is shot. Make sure there is a little bit of play in the pedal at the top of travel. If you put your foot on the pedal and there isn't any play at the top then the clutch may not be engaging all the way (and you may have burned up the clutch from the slippage). Good Luck,...ZMANRACING

Dear Bogger.......First off......congrats on havin a pony!!!! I've always loved those vehicles....and let's get to the nitty gritty on the thing...the first thing that i want you to do is pop open the hood on her and pull off the vaccuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator. If there is fuel coming out of the regulator where the vacuum line goes then there we have it...There should be no fuel at all comin out of the regulator where the vacuum line connects. If you see fuel comin out or you can smell fuel in there....that regulator has failed and it's loadin up the cylinders.....after you inspect that then check your fuel pump pressure by tappin into the fuel pressure rail. Fyi...the regulator is on top of your fuel rail ...if that part has failed then it's a 40 dollar fix at autozone or checker auto parts...please get back to me if ya have anymore concerns with your baby!!!!! I HOPE I COULD HELP!!!!

Did you check the wiring when you replace the switch? Some times the plug that you plug into the light will be melted or burnt. I know cause I had 2 - 5.0 stangs and both did the samething. Is the car equip with fog lights? If so I would disconnect them. I found that the fog lights on my 89 gt cause the head light switch to over heat and melt. On both I had to repair the wiring at the plug.

91 ford mustang 5.0 fuel pump and relay is working
How do you know the fuel pump is not getting power?.The fuel pump only comes on for a second or two before cutting back off.The ecm only suppys power to the relay for a few short seconds with key in the on position.Only constant 12 volts is supplied when the engine is running. Is the fuel pump new?How do we know it is good? Also is the engine giving a spark when the engine is turning over?If the engine has no spark, then the pick up coil could be bad,otr the ignition module could be bad.Check the fuel at the injsctors or a fuel line to see if the fuel will pump out when the key is turned on,if it does not, then check to see if the ijectors are pulsing. If the injectors are not pulsing ,and you have spark, then remove the distributor and replace the pick up coil, and the ignition module. The pick up coil, along with the igniyion module give the injectors there pulse. One other thing,If the fuel pump is not for sure coming on,check to see if the relay is clicking on,and then off in a couple of seconds. If this is true, then replace the fuel pump.Any other questons, please ask,I will try to help if I can.I hope this was some help, let me know, thanks.
