Vehicle theft system not letting the car start ? There is a by pass procedure that cuts out the ignition lock cylinder > Coming out of the back of the lock cylinder are two wires that travel down the steering column ! These wires break inside the cylinder ,causing the resistor pellets value not to reach the BCM , causing a no start condition .You can check the value of the resistor with an ohm meter ,then go to radio shack an buy a resistor of the same value ! Find the two wires under the dash , will be white wires inside orange sheathing ! There will be a connector where these wires connect to the body wiring harrness . Solder the resistor into the body wiring connector , not wires going back to the ignition switch . This works if it is the wires inside the lock cylinder that's broken . There are videos on youtube showing how to do this ! There are a few videos on how to test this also , this how we do it at the dealer ! Before hacking up the wiring , stick the key in the ignition ,after checking resistor value . Then find the wires under the dash an check for the resistor pellet value . If the wires are broke you will not see any value . But if the value is correct there is another problem. In which case your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . You should have it check for codes In the BCM anyway .
