Hi Mushi, Your BMW is fitted with an anti theft system (EWS) which controls the common rail injection. I suggest having a diagnostic scan carried out and pin pointing any possible problem, which could also be related to a defective crank or cam shaft sensor. Regards John

sounds more to me like you have a faulty thermostat, is your fan coming on? if not its your thermostat< its not opening when the car gets up to temp allowing the water around the engine into the radiator to cool, if youve no sludge in the oil i would def go for the thermostat, easy way to check take it out and put it in boiling water and watch to see if it opens.

The air/fuel mixture is determined by sensors and the computer. If you're having trouble with cold starts it's probably a sensor. Take the car to a reputable repair shop which has the correct equipment and techs to do a diagnostic for you.
