May be dirty fuel in tank or dirty throttle body...try 2 bottles of Lucas Oil Fuel injector cleaner...maybe one bottle of "HEET" to gas also to reduce water or sludge in tank...worth trying before paying to have your system cleaned...hope this helps.

The timing marks for the cam chain are just basic set up. You will need factory special tools to lock crank and other shafts in place to do this correctly.

It probably has. There is a check valve on the fuel rail that holds fuel pressure when the engine is not running. It's probably leaking down. Have a pressure test done on the fuel system to verify this.

I would suspect vapor lock. The fuel rails are getting hot and it turns the diesel into a vapor instead of a liquid. A liquid is what is needed to go into the injectors. Try insulating all of the fuel lines with the shiny side out to reflect heat back to the engine.

Is it black? black smoke means you are burning too much gasoline could be a bad choke or even a dirty air filter. Blue smoke means you are burning oil out of your engine .White means water getting into crank case or pistons.
