01 bmw 325i is not shifting before redline

What you describe is called "passing mode". The way it works is a switch under the gas pedal. when you press the pedal most all the way to the floor, the shift point changes to right at redline. It leads to very impressive performance when you punch it. Since this shift point is always on, I would suspect the passing mode switch is stuck in the on position.

Changed the CPS on my 01 330i and still getting same code, car still acting strange. Any suggestions??

This could come from a variety of places... in no particular order... the "new" CPS is bad (get another one)... The battery is weak or has low voltage (replace battery)... The DME may need an update / DIS CD 30.0 or higher... dealer or good Independent shop can do this) last one to look at is the fuel filter (replace)

I have a Bmw 3 series e46 2001 I have a flat tyre. Engine management system on was not on before the flat tyre. Would the light come because of the flat tyre.

Not typically. If t he tire came apart and hit wiring or something related to the engine management system it is possible. Not likely but possible.

2001 BMW series 3 won't start engine, sounds like its not getting enough power to crank, but not sure why

Firstly test with another battery, sometimes an old battery cannot supply enough current even when the voltage level looks okay. then, Check for full voltage at the starter. Check starter solenoid for freedom of travel.

WAT COUSE BLACK SMOKE OF 320DIESEL 2001

Hi Xengle, Black smoke shows a rich mixture, in other words too much diesel is being injected into the combustion chamber and not being fully burned. Take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan and have them check if any of the sensors have become defective. If they are all fine you may need to get the injectors serviced and re-calibrated. Regards John

POSSIBLE REASON AND SOLUTIONS FOR CODE PO.500,P1083, PO171,PO174

Table of ContentsSec. 1. P0171Sec. 2. P0174Sec. 3. P0500Sec. 4. P1083 (a BMW-specific DTC Code)SEC. 1--------------------------------------------P0171 OBD-II Trouble CodeTechnical DescriptionSystem Too Lean (Bank 1)Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.SymptomsYou will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration.CausesA code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.Possible SolutionsPossible solutions include: In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure-------------------------------------------Sec. 2-------------------------------------------P0174 OBD-II Trouble CodeTechnical DescriptionSystem Too Lean (Bank 2)Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 2 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 2 is generally the side of the engine that doesn't have cylinder #1.Note: This DTC is very similar to P0171, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.SymptomsYou will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration.CausesA code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly. If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure wil depend on your make and model of vehicle. If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.--------------------------------------------------Sec. 4 - the BMW-specific code---------------------------------------------------P1083 Fuel Control Mixture Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Rear llight on driver side not working. Brake

There are very few design flaws in the e46 (window regulators, sunroof guides). You just found one of them. BMW put dissimilar metals in the plug and pins in the tail light, and corrosion results. The ground connection corrodes long before the others. Cleaning it is a temporary fix. Replacing the tail light is a temporary fix. Adding a second ground connection is a permanent fix.
In the ground trace on the back of that tail light, you will find a tab for a spade fitting. Make an extra ground wire about 6" long with a spade fitting on one end and a loop on the other end that fits on one of the bolts that holds the tail light in. Do both tail lights while you are at it.
Actually, this was probably not so much a design flaw but rather a case where the plug and the tail light were made by two different suppliers who did not communicate their material selections to each other.
