Key Fob Programming

I purchased a replacement key fob for my 2005 Pontiac G6 from a salvage yard. Is this something I can program, if so how? I am hoping I will not have to go do the dealer to get this done. The car has trunk release and remote start along with the door locks and alarm.

Thank You for your time Jerry

Key won't come out of the ignition.

I have a 05 Pontiac G6 and the key gets stuck in the ignition. I moved the shift lever back and forth several times and it finally came out. is there a sensor or an adjustment in the shift area, that causes this to happen?

yes, there is a shiftlock sensor, so you can only take the key out when in park.
Getting at it requires removal of the center console.
When you have it in park - give it a little tap forward before turning off the vehicle.

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngmoz-screenshot-2.pngIf you look at the coil towers you will see numbers by them, they correspond to the cylinders.
1-3-5 are closest to the firewall
2-4-6- are closest to the radiator

The plug wires also have the numbers on them.

Looking at the coil assembly, 1-4, 2-5. 3-6 from left to right.

how to change spark plugs in 05 g6

The G6's spark plugs are located under the plastic cover of the engine compartment for the 3.5 V6, under the spark plug wire boots (the plastic ends of the wires you plug on top of your spark plugs). Once you get the plastic cover off you cant miss them, just follow the plug wire cables. They are easy to change if youremember to do one at a time, (since order does matter, don't mix up the cables!). Also don't over tighten them, expensive damage will be caused. Its best to borrow a torque wrench and read the new spark plug box instructions for proper tightness.
Generally if you have trouble finding spark plugs, it might be best to let someone else do this one rather than risk the damage. But there is no better way to learn than by doing it yourself.
if for some reason you dont do them one at a time which is a bad thing to do. theFiring Order is 123456
also the
Spark Plug Gap for the 3.9L is
1.00 mm
0.040 in

Spark Plug Gap for the 3.5L is
1.52 mm
0.060 in

if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you from there. If this helped you please feel free to rate the solution. Thanks -Midwest-tek

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.
This link may help you find ways to bypass this or fix it yourself.

Go into your settings on the radio and change it to RKE. The alarm will beep when you unlock the doors via your keys but stop once you turn the ignition on, the alarm will not arm unless you lock your doors either.
