check your fluids radiator should be full and resavor should be at full level if you dont have enough anti freeze it wont push fluid into your heater core also pay attention to your tempature gage if the temp is low you wont get good heat your thermostat could be stuck wide open I would try adding anti-freeze first though that usually fixes it make sure its 50/50 if you just add water sooner or later that water will evaporate

most of the time when your check engine light blinks it means your having a converter melt down. you need to find out the cause of it. most of the time its something to do with your emission system. a simple computer diag from a local parts store might tell you what sensor is not working right. or you can go to your mech and it will only take a min to check out the codes.
