2005 Nissan Altima - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Shifter stuck in park
Possible not getting brake switch signal, but most likely to be a failing shift interlock solenoid.
Can I tow a 05 nissan altima behind rv 4 down
legally probably not as the towing vehicle is lighter than the vehicle being towed and there are no brakes for the towed vehicle.
even if it is on a trailer the weight gets worse as you have to consider the trailer as well
to add to all that the legal tow capacity of the rv4 will be less than the total mass being towed
2005 Altima that wont crank or make a sound, new battery. The battery connection was corroided, changed the connector and still no fire to the car.Fly wheel not moving all the around,no problems prior.
One portion of the ignition switch should send voltage to the starter solenoid, sometimes attached to the starter motor, on older cars, on the firewall. You can follow a lone cable from the battery (+) plus side to the starter solenoid/starter. It could be corroded where it connects to the solenoid.
So basically, the battery sends voltage to the dash, the ignition sends voltage to the solenoid in the start position, which activates the solenoid so it can send the high current from the battery to the starter. The solenoid has large contacts so it can carry the heavy current; that's why it's there before the actual starting voltage to the starter.
(Do the dash lights, etc light when the ignition is turned on? Does the horn blow? If not, all this is moot.)
How to install the thermostat on 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5?
This is a pretty easy repair. Your vehicle has 2 thermostats. One on the driver side of motor just below the intake manifold and the other in the center of motor just below the intake. I would flush the coolant system aswell.
Here is a link on how to do it. I have recently done one and these steps are right on.
