Sometimes it helps to have a helper standing at the end of the hood, as you pull the hood release mechanism inside, have the helper pop the hood with palm of hand in area of release mechanism. I haven't looked to see if you could remove front grille?
If there is a national brand autostore in your community, they have been known to make house calls. Possibly, they could raise your hood, replace the battery or give it a charge, whatever. I don't know what they charge?
Sometimes you can charge your battery by hooking up battery charger to battery cable at your starter motor?
Power steering hard
Hey Kumar,
Does the steering get easier when it gets hot? If it get easier when hot, its the rack and pinion gear. The valve body (actually a teflon composition ring(s) o-rings/valve bore housing are getting worn to the point where they are not controlling the fluid flow when its cold,, when the rack and pinion gets hot, the valve bore expands and "corrects" the clearance which in turn, controls the fluid flow. The valve body bore in the rack and pinion housing is worn where the teflon rings ride against the bore.
This is nothing that can be fixed except by replacing the entire rack and pinion gear. Drain ALL the power steering fluid from the pump also and fill with fresh new fluid.

Altima 2005 squeaking in the rear
Chattering is caused by components tooclose to each other. This happens when bushings wear out. Get under there (not whenthe car has been running) and shake the exhaust system and any suspension component to see if you can make it chatter. Then look for why the part is able to move so much.
