Having a hard time going from park to other
sounds like you have an ice or mud build up on or near your shift linkage.
have you recently run over anything or anyone?
damage can occur to the shift linkage from road debrise as well.
I just bought a 2000 Nissan Frontier and I'd like
you can shift on the fly from 2 hi to 4 hi at any time as long as you are not under power or in other words on the gas. Hold at a steady speed or let up on gas pedal a little bit then shift, DO NOT shift truck when vehicle is speeding up or taking off. Also do not shift when wheels are spinning or when you are turning a corner. The same goes for shifting from 4 hi to 2 hi. ** Now to shift into 4 lo the truck should be stopped and put trans shift into nuetral then shift transfercase into 4 lo, and never exceed 25 mph in 4 lo position !!!!!!! To shift out of 4 lo and go to 4 hi or 2 hi stop vehicle and shift trans into nuetral then make your 4x4 shift then put trans into forward or reverse gear and VROOOOOM your on your way. Remember to NEVER and i mean NEVER shift into 4 lo while vehicle is moving forward or reverse as you will do serious damage to any and all parts of drive train. You should not run 4x4 at all unless you need to pull something where you need extra traction like a boat out of water,a stuck vehicle,or if roads are slippery, or muddy. also don't be alarmed as sometimes when in 4 wheel drive and you turn corners you will notice a binding or jerking motion, this is normal and if this is occurring i would recommend going back to 2 hi position. HAPPY TRAILS to you with the new toy. I only buy vehicles with 4x4 and have never owned a 2 wheel drive in my 31 yrs of driving. I love the idea that i have extra power and traction options when i need it,the only bad thing is your boss says " what do you mean you can't make it in,you have a 4 wheel drive!
Reverse lights do not go on, bulbs not burnt,
Ok, if you are sure you don't have a bad fuse, and the bulbs are good, and there hasn't been some work done recently that might be related, I would be looking for the back-up light switch. If you pick up is an automatic the it is usualy part of the neutral safety switch. If it is a manual transmission, there is a back up light switch that screws into the transmission case (usually near the shifter) It will have two wires and some kind of a plug the conect the wires to the switch. It may be a bad switch or a poor conection at the switch or broken/ bad wire between the swicth and the lights in the back. There are several way to go about narrowing this down but you first have to be able to get under the truck and you will need a test light or a multimeter to test for voltage. Once you locate the switch, one of the two wires will have voltage with the key on (engine off) the other wire will go out to the lights. If you don't have a test light you can jumper the two wires together (after you unplug it from the switch) with a paper clip or some other short piece of wire (don't worry,12 volts can't hurt you) If the lights come on with the switch by-passed you know the switch is bad, If not, back to square one. You need to find out if there is voltage at the switch. At this point you really need a test light or a multimeter. Test for 12 volts at the switch with the key on if not, the problem is "upstream" that is you are not getting power from the fuse panel, if you have power at the switch and you have done the "jumper wire" test, the problem is "down stream" that is between the switch and the lights. Also, before you do any of this, if you bought this truck used look and see if some shade tree previous owner added a plug for a trailer and hacked into the lighting harness near the rear of the truck and maybe made some poor conections.
2004 Nissan Frontier. When I pull headlight out
Sounds like it has a bad ground in the sockets, check to see if there is any green corrosion in the contacts. it's a commom in areas that use road salt in winter. They make replacements for them.
I start it in the
THERMOSENSOR,ANY CODES? PROBLEY NOT. ITS NOT THE COOLING FAN SWITCH.
Where can i find the starter on a nissan frontier
The starter on the Nissan Frontier is a motor that is connected to the
battery that runs the ignition process of the truck. When you turn the
key to start the truck, this will send an electrical signal to the
starter motor that turns the flywheel. The flywheel in turns moves the
crankshaft. When the starter goes bad or teeth on the starter gear get
chipped this will prevent the truck from starting. Locating the starter
is the first step in replacing it.
-
Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the battery to the passenger side of the engine compartment.
-
Identify the positive terminal of the battery. This will be indicated by the (+) symbol above the terminal.
-
Trace
the red cable that is attached to the positive terminal. The cable will
run from the battery down to the side of the motor.
-
Locate
the end of the red cable as it is attached to the starter. The starter
will be attached to a bracket by the motor with the back of the starter
connected to the bell housing of the transmission.
-
Remove
the front passenger side tire for easier access to the starter. This
will also give you plenty of room to remove the starter.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
ANTIFREEZE leaking down off oil pan. I do not see
If your hoses are intact, it still may be the water pump.
When the seals fail, there is a small diameter hole at the bottom of the pump which will start to seep so it just answers to gravity and the oil pan is the lowest part.
At how many miles should I replace my clutch and
flywheel can last whole life of the truck if you are a good driver and i have seen clutchs go as long as 200 hundred thousand depends on the driver and the roads you drive uphills etc.personally i would wait until signs of slipping surfaced .

Clutch depressed there is a
Is this a question or a statement? There are three components interacting when you push the pedal, if any of them is bad you must replace all three as it is silly to pay for all the labor and only replace one part. Take it to a shop and ask them to tell you if you need a clutch job. Being only a 2004 I would check and see if this does not fall into a power train warranty.
