Car quits running after it gets warm.
If you have the 2.5L, they have problems with the cam and crank position sensors. They are separate parts, but have the same part number( they are the same). One is on the side of the cyl. head, and the other is on the block facing the firewall. If either sensor fails, you will lose fuel and spark. The 3.5 also has both sensors. Try to get your car scanned if possible.
I have a 03 nissan
Can i bypass my 2005 nissan altima ac compressor with a shorter serpentine belt if so what siz do i need and is the diagram different for the factory placement of tbe belt
Why does it drive well for 30 minutes but after that will go into gear but wont move?
I suspect that the full engagement of the clutch pressure plate is not being achieved
if a pressure plate is held at reduced application pressure , it will continuously slip marginally and this build up to a point where the clutch plate will not absorb any more heat and so it fades and slips completely ( same affect as brake fade from worn pads and too heavy brake application -like long down hill runs )
the area I would check is the clutch master cylinder as it appears that the compensating port is blocked , and holding pressure in the clutch line which with increasing heat from the clutch builds up more pressure and compounds the pressure plate problem
this is identical to a heavy truck clutch problem where full testing produced no problems , yet at 100 miles and on a range the clutch failed completely but when cooled down again tested as good
on replacing the clutch pressure plate and clutch plate it was revealed by a clutch specialist shop that the pressure springs were actually weaker that specifications and were in fact allowing the clutch top slip and so go into the fade situation
Cant get car to go into any gear running are not running
I think your transmission took a dive. The reason for the noise is with clutch pedal down, the input shaft to the transmission is not turning. When you let out the clutch, the input shaft mates with the flywheel and starts turning. A bearing or shaft or gears, something like that must have broken in the transmission.
A rebuild would be very expensive. A cheaper route would be a used transaxle.
Center a rack and pinion from under the dash
yes you possibly can ( depends on the room available.)
I would do the centring at the top of the rack and pinion as this is where a multi spline is that will allow for correct centring.
when you get the shaft off the box
firstly turn the rack from lock to lock ( wheels of the ground) and position the shaft at the midpoint of the turns counted fro left to right
next with the steering wheel place it in the straight ahead position
put the shaft back on the rack and tighten up the lock bolt
