How do I figure out which fuse controls the Oxygen sensors in a 2002 nissan Maxima SE

Good question... there are NO Fuses or Relays which control the Oxygen sensors. A fault code in the ECM access socket will tell you if the oxygen sensors are working properly, if you possess a fault code reader. Most Asian cars, including the smaller Chevy's made in the old Daiwoo factory, use DENSO sensors and most European makes Behr-Hella. If your car is not running right, check the vacuum lines first... there is a schematic inside the hood. Replace your spark plugs and distributor cap/rotor for those cars that use them. Check your plug wires for continuity using a simple multimeter set to resistance... they should all be close! A car of your's age should get the fault code read from time to time... aftermarket code readers are reasonable in cost and the Haynes manual will tell you what they mean in most cases.

I need to change the coil for spark plug #6 in a 2002 Nissan Maxima. How do I determine which one is number 6? Are there any markings or indicators to look for?

From the front of the engine where the Belts are. The nearest bank of cylinders are numbered 2-4-6 so the one you are looking for is furthest to the right. If you have a scan tool you could plug out one of the coils to see which shows up a fault code. Hope this helps. Regards Jim...

I just noticed a rattle when I shut off car...could it be a loose exhaust?

Might be Exhaust, but if Exhaust is loose , you usualy here a rattle when you are also driving the car on the road. Best to take Car to local Repairer , put Car on ramp , and take a look , as it could be something else that Rattles.

Driving down the highway, my 2002 nissan maxima went from driving great to loosing most acceleration power and only able to go about 10-20mph max, even with gas pedal floored. Proir i was on empty and

Sounds like you off easy with the pump. Could just be a clog or some water. Some things to remember before you go back: 1) Was it producing large amounts of steam or smoke from exhaust? A strong antifreeze smell means head gasket. This will rob you of all power. Since you will get back when it is cold, before you turn it on, smell the exhaust pipe for antifreeze. If there are any of those symptoms, get it towed where you can do some major work. 2) If no smoke or steam from exhaust, and if you are certain it is not the drive train, know where the fuel filter is and what it would take to do it along side the road (Many need special tools to remove). If more than a few seconds work and your along side the road, have it moved somewhere safe (remember, a car broken down along side the road is more likely to collect other cars than other where else). Since you just filled up, buy a siphon and some gas cans, take a bottle of "HEET" and "Sea Foam" to put in the tank. They both control H2O if you picked any up at the last fill up and start at replacing the fuel filter.

I'm changing my brake pads and discs, but my discs are rusted on

You use a 2x4 with small sledge,or a plastic heavyweight hammer
like mechanics use and do what Emission said. If you soak it make sure its free of this oil when it goes back on,and that no oil will drip from assembly when it goes back on. Beating the disk has always come off with the right hammer without oil.

2002 Maxima trans slips while at cruising speed. On interstate @ 50mph, then revs up to over 4k and won't down shift. Happens periodically, once had to kill engine. Otherwise, runs great 98%

Sounds like the revolution sensor. There are more than one if I read correctly on that Maxima and could cost about 800bux to fix.
