Late cooling nissan maxima 2001
check coolant level in radiator. also check the cooling fans and make sure they are coming on when the car is hot. the a/c will not come on if the car is running hot. the computer will not turn the a/c pump on to keep engine cooler and prevent a brake down. make sure all those things are in working order.

Iddle and Throttle problem!
had the same problem with the same year model, changed the idle position sensor, did not fix problem. took it to dealer because I was told that it had to have an idle relearn program ran on it, it didn't take and the dealer toldme that I need a ECM (engine control module) basically a new computer and it would cost with labor about 1100.00 dollars.
2001 maxima break lights remain on when off
There is a break light on off switch which is connected to the break pedal as you push the pedal the break light is on and when you release the pedal light goes off just look along side the pedal upwards there is a small connector swich just check the small pin type switch as it is in the refrigerator doors try by pushing it in gently to check if it is jammed or the other reason could be that the break pedal remains slight pushed inside from its orignal position to keep the switch on for this check the pedal springs amd lubricate them
