The a/c light flashes on
The a/c light flashing is usually an indication that there is a problem with the compressor. However, when you recharged the system it worked. Start your car, lift the hood and turn the a/c on. Listen to insure that the compressor cycles properly without any unusual noises(click and whirl noise is normal) like a squeal. Cycles OK...no noise, compressor is fine. You more than likely have a clogged drain tube that you can run a wire up and drain; and you need to replace the a/c pressure switch because that is what is making you blow hot air. The a/c pressure switch is a typical problem on these Outlanders and people wind up replacing their compressor, when they only needed to replace a $25 part! Hope this helps solve the problem. GOOD LUCK!
When the engine services light turns on but is not running fine?
That light could mean the car is merely due for a routine service according to the kms travelled, or it may mean the car's computer is holding a trouble code report for some part of the car. Have a mechanic read out any trouble code to see where to go from there. In the USA Autozone will do this for you.

Problems with my heating in 2008 Mitsubishi outlander
First, find another mechanic through a friend. You're getting taken by these guys. As for the heating problem, how does it act when you are actually driving? If it works fine, listen when you slow down for a noise like air escaping. If you hear it, you may have a vacuum leak that is causing the air dampers to close. It's a pretty cheap fix.
Check back before you spend more $$.
