I don't think this is a common problem for this truck . To check for a recall you will need your vin # . you need to call a GM dealer (service dept) and ask them to check for open recalls . they should do this for you over the phone (if there is and open recall they will want you to set up and appt to have it completed) i searched my data base on ALL DATA and did not fine a TSB ( tecinal service bulltins) or recall campaign for any type of tail light repair .

Put scanner on plug will

If the code reader is showing no error codes then the problem has to be inspected manually./Also in some cases the code shows with dealer scanner.A normal scanner will not be able to read code.Not in all,but in some cases this happens.--------- Also give exact detail,for the problem.Is the check engine light coming ON dash.Is there no start problem.Is there gear shift problem.Is it manual tranny or auto tranny. Sometimes those bulbs will require you to push in on the bulb, then turn before the little nubs on the bulb will line up is the opening on the housing.

If the heater core was a problem (got a hole in it, etc) You would smell a strong anti-freeze odor while you had your blower motor turned on (any air). Any help?

Yes any TBI motor will work, You do have to switch your sensors, possibly motor mounts and balancer from the old motor. all other items should transfer.

After checking fuses what would be the next step

check blower motor voltage feed wire for voltage, if voltage present in all speeds then motor not good, if voltage not present check blower motor resistor for short.

Blower motor will not turn off - runs while engine

GMs great ideas in advancing electronics. Circuit board inside heater blower housing. Integrated circuit fried not all that costly or hard to fix but to tell you step by step. Best to get the manual if you don't know how to get to the blower motor compartment.
