What does p0101 code mean

The mass air flow sensor is bad and needs replacing. It is located in the duct tube coming from the air filter to the throttle body. When this goes completely out then the car wont start. Until then it will have some power loss and fuel average will go down.

No heat and both the radiator and thermostat are new.

There are a couple of possibilities....1. The heater core has been bypassed. If the core was leaking someone may have looped the heater hose back on itself. Check to ensure that the supply and return heater hoses are in place and properly routed to the firewall.2. The heater core may be clogged. Age does a lot as does old coolant to clog up a heater core. To check the core disconnect the heater hoses at the block. Blow through one hose and see if you can get coolant/air to pass through the core. You can raise one hose higher than the other and pour water through or use low-pressure air as well. If the core is clogged, it may be possible to unclog it using a diluted drain cleaner. Pour the diluted cleaner into both hoses and let sit for a time, then flush with clear water. This may take several attempts. If it works it will save much time and expense. The unfortunate downside is that there is also the possibility of generating a core leak this way. But considering that if you hadn't tried you would have to replace the core anyway, you have nothing really to lose. 3. The blend door in the heater control box may be stuck and not letting air pass thru the core to heat the cabin. This one is hardder to verify.

After over heating lost power now wont start

Depending on how badly it overheated it may have warped your engine. engines these days do not like to be subjected to high temps, Mainly because they are made from aluminum. When it overheats, it warp from the original shape and won't allow the mechanical parts to operate. If the engine turns over, but just won't start. Check the two life lines of an engine Gas and Power. You may have fried a sensor when it overheated, or cooked a wire. To check if the gas pump is working, turn the key on while some of stands next to the gas tank, they should hear the pump kick on. If it does, check to see if the spark is working. good luck

Lost power now wont start after over heating

well. you just say it all. Overheating is a major brake down. how bad did the car overheated, chances are that the cylinder heads are warped. to find out, remove all of spark plugs, then with a compression Gage read the amount of compression on that particular cylinder one at the time. if you have 100 psi or more it should start after you clean or replace the socked spark plugs, if lower it well stat only if you resurface and replace cylinder head gaskets. engine may be junk, check the color of the oil, if it looks like coffee, watch out, if white, is junk, refill the coolant to the top, radiator cap off. keep eye on radiator, have someone crank the engine, if coolant goes every were, it is the heads. good luck.

2000 gmc jimmy throttle cable is broken how do I

The only fix is to replace cable. Fairly easy, there are plastic "tangs" that need to be depressed at the firewall. This will release the cable so it can be pulled through. Follow the cable thru to the pedal. It is just a matter of disengaging at the pedal and at the throttle body connectors. Pay close attention to the cable routing, as incorrect install can be detrimental to operation!
