Got a 96 gmc nd i have a small hissing sound come
First thing I would look for is a vacuum line leak. Engine heat can make lines brittle or something like fuel or oil on lines not made for it will weaken those lines causing cracks, breaks, etc. Also a line could just not be connected (knocked loose during maintenance and missed). Sometimes these will affect performance but not always, and you didn;t mention anything other noticed issues. I'd check all hose connections of any kind as well.
How to wire fan switch for1997 gmc
i dont know what you mean, if you are tying to put a toggle switch in then run one wire from the fan to a ground on the truck and a wire from the toggle to the fan you will also need a hot wire from the battery to the toggle with a fuse inbetween, but the first thing you want to check is make sure the fuses and the relay are good and you have no broken wires if they are good then hook up a neg- and a pos+ wire to the fan if it comes on the change the temp sensor and the fan should work on its own when the truck gets hot
