I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. Are the spark plugs still in the engine? If so, the resistance you may be feeling is the compression stroke.

Most likely causes are bad engine coolant temp sensor OR leaking fuel injectors. Bad engine coolant temp sensor will give computer false reading and computer provides wrong air fuel mixture. Leaking fuel injectors will load the engine with raw gas--just like flooding it. Try pushing the gas pedal to the floor and holding it there when cranking when hot. That forces the computer into "clear flood" mode and it shuts off the injectors. If it starts up with pedal down, that would be a sign of leaking injectors.

U can google it but if that does not the trick U will have to get the service manual. Just make sure the service manual has what you need since some service manuals do not show electrical schematics and they only appear in electrical service manual as in the Toyota Celica

It would work best on a tow dolly. I imagine that has an automatic transmission. Yes, possibly the diodes are bad, allowing current to drain from the battery. Most parts stores can test for this.
