2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My 2003 Chevy trailblazer tailgate shuts but won't latch shut?
It does take diagnostics on this. You have a switch, wires(of course) 2 computers and the latch to check. First is to check the wires. Open the hatch. At the top you will see a rubber boot from the hatch to the body. This is were the wires break. Don't try to repair them there. Pull them back both ways and splice in wires. Yes you have to pull the hatch panel and pull the head liner down enough to work. This is a start. You also need a volt/ohm meter and the codes for the BCM and rear hatch module.
Chevy trailblazer 4.2 6 cylinder head bolt torque in ft/lbs only and sequence
the sequence can be found online @ fel-pro torque table they are now using angle meteres because these bolts are tty (torque to yield ) which means they are designed to stretch, I recommend using new head bolts, and the final ft./lbs will be 55lbs they tighten in three stages ,follow the directions in torque table, do not use air ratchet on initial tightening , I have been using anerobic sealant on headbolts as some now go into aluminum threads and water jackets. hope it helps
How do I fix/reset code B0041
DTC B0041 will set when one of the following conditions occurs:
- The SDM detects the LF side impact module deployment loop resistance is greater than 4.8 ohms for 500 milliseconds.
- The SDM detects the voltage at LF side impact module high control is less than 2.4 volts and LF side impact module deployment loop resistance is 6 ohms or greater for 500 milliseconds. it will continue to reset till the fault is repaired.
Why 2003 tailblazer low beams go off and on
Known issue, there is actually a recall finally on this. It's your relay in the fuse box under the hood. The recall doesn't have a permanent fix quite yet, so just replace the relay, I believe it's # 43. Keep an extra one in your glove box, has saved me twice over the years.
Power mirror switch knob broke off on 2003 trailblazer
I was told I needed a new module on drivers side - I took it out and took it apart and cleaned the contacts in it with a spray electrical component cleaner and put it back together and it works just as it did before - saved 200 dollars not replacing something that wasn't broken!
Why low beam lights go off and come back on
It's your headlight relay in the fuse block under the hood. Just replace it. There is a recall on this issue, but their fix has just been to replace the relay. Not a permanent fix yet. Always keep a spare in your glovebox. My spares have help me twice in 2 different Trailblazers. If you're in a pinch, swap #43 with #46 relay (same relay), you're swapping with the fan so keep an eye on the temp if you do.
