Are you saying it cranks good but won't start? If so, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Also, check for fuel injector pulse, engine cranking. If your saying the starter won't even crank? Then make sure battery has a full charge and check wiring circuits at the starter. Any testing at the starter make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set.

look at your replacement unit, locate it on the throttle body, and observe its just a fastener removal off/on operation...Take note when you remove the old IAC, grab a rag and soak the tip of it with carb cleaner and clean out the bore where the IAC pintle resides. I also usually take a hint of whit lube and hit the "o" ring...after install, jump the ALDL and with KOEO, IAC should cycle...Good luck

it is under dash ,behind glove box,not a hard job at all

there is a vacuum solonoid on the firewall in the middle with 2 vac lines and a 2 wire plug

Stock DVD player? Not likely... Sounds like an aftermarket deck...but these are 1.5 din units...it may only look like it has a DVD player screen, due to the display size.

Transmission is vacuum controlled ...check

If you smell steam/water/antifreeze inside the vehicle, then most likely you have a heater core issue. If it is more 'overheating' smell outside of the vehicle, it could be overflow container leaking on hot parts, leaking hose, radiator leak, etc.

Does ABS work properly? Get on dirt road and try to lock brakes (do this carefully insuring no police car tailgating,lol) Could be bad wheel speed sensor. Check codes with scan tool capable of reading ABS and trans codes.

unbolt it! Make sure you dont have to have it for emission testing in your state. And your truck will not run properly after removal. Your check engine light will be on because to o2 sensors will read to much carbons.

The ECM does not recognize the different key. A tool referred to as a Tech-2 plugs in to the scan port, the truck is put in learn mode and the prompts on the tool are followed, this "programs" the ECM recognize the new key.

If you are getting air to the cabin, then you probably have a problem with the air dam that divides the air from the heater coil to the cabin. Most are vacuum operated and can fail on vaccum

Electronic Control Module

Here's how to reset the ECM after you've replaced the fuse.

1 Remove the nut from the negative battery cable using a socket set or wrench. Slide the cable off of the battery and set it aside.

2 Turn the headlight switch to the "On" position to drain the ECM of any remaining power. Wait at least 10 minutes, then turn it back to the "Off" position.

3 Replace the negative battery cable by reversing the previous steps. Tighten the nut until it feels secure, paying attention not to overtighten it. The ECM has now been reset

my 98 Blazer I had to replace radiator water pump heatercore and hoses. Had head gasket go. Once that happens air and dexcool corrode cooling system. Do you smell antifreeze? Are you loosing antifreeze? Check oil see if its another color not clear or black but i think light brown. Have you flushed out system?

You have a problem with the secondary air injection system ! The air pump is electrically controlled by the engine computer . Three things can go wrong with this system . The wiring , the pump or the diverter valve.I'll send two links on how to test it. Draining that fast could be the starter. Other things like radios and interior lights usually take about 2 days to drain a battery.
