Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control System
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consist of the following components:
• The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid.
• The automatic transmission park lock solenoid (Regal only).
• The automatic transmission shift lock control switch.
• The transmission range switch.

With the ignition in the ON position, battery positive voltage is supplied to the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The circuit continues through the normally-closed switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control and park lock solenoids. The transmission range switch provides a path to ground in the PARK position. With the automatic transmission shift lock control and park lock solenoids energized the shift lever is locked in the PARK position. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the contacts in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch open. This causes the automatic transmission shift lock control and park lock solenoids to release. This allows the shift lever to move from the PARK position.
Do the brake lights work ? If not could be cause by bad brake light switch .
Cannot locate fuse for headlights on 2000 buick
When you don't know which fuse is which, I would go ahead and check them all. All you need is a 12 volt test light which has a sharp probe on one end and an alligator clip on the other end. Ground the alligator clip to a piece of metal by the fuse box. Then turn the ignition switch to the on position. Then probe both sides of every fuse. It should light on both sides. If you find a fuse that only lights on one side, that fuse is blown. If it doesn't light on either side, turn on the headlight switch and recheck. If it still does not light on either side, skip that fuse as that is not the bad one (those are generally for engine components). If none of the fuses light up, check your ground or change to another ground location. You can always check to make sure your tester is working by checking it across the battery. If it doesn't light there, the tester bulb is burnt out. When you find the blown fuse, replace it with the same color/same amp rating. Hope this helps. Good luck :O)
Where is the fuss box in a 2000 buick regal
There are two fuse boxes. One is under the the hood just behide your battery in a plastic box with a plastic turn nob. The other is located inside your passenger door. Open the passenger door and on the side of your dashboard. Facing you is a little panel door. Pulls off and is held on by 3 small metal clip.
Hope this helps

Why is air coming from all three areas (vents/floor/defrost) regardless of setting?
There is actually two blend door actuator that control the opening and closing of your vents. Ine is located under the drivers side dash board. The is on the passengers side. Both are electric and I didnt have the money to replace them so i removed them and turned it with a pliers to allow heat to come out of bothe sides of the vent. Then come summer flip the little bar back the other way to A/C
Hope this helps
