Sometimes I have trouble finding
A lot of times you are talking about a little piece of plastic that will act as a guide or a bushing to allow for a more tight feel when shifting. This is a pic of some of the fixes that you can use to eliminate this issue. If I remember correctly, you should be able to do this from inside the car. Look for bmw z3 shifter bushings on the internet or call your nearest BMW dealer and they should have them in stock.

Most times the button is wore out. There are ways to take it apart and bend the contacts in an emergency or temporay fix. Best to replace it.
I RECENTLY REPLACED THE BATTERY
It is a vent for the battery and needs to be hooked to it.
Hopefully your new battery was the right application and has that provision.

My BMW Z3 Roadster Driver
This is usually a symptom seen when a latch mechanism has worn out. I would replace the door latch with a used one. This is the unit that actually holds the door shut. You will see it on the side of the door. The door panel will need to be removed to gain access. Let me know if you need anything further.
The A/C is blowing hot
could be pressure switch. When the guy put 134a in...find out what the pressure readings were on the suction line to find out if the compressor was working. May as well hook up the high side as well to get both readings. If there's a decent separation between the two....the compressor works. The evaporator is just a radiator, there's a metering device for the refrigerant into the evaporator, but the only thing that goes wrong with an evaporator is a leak.
What would caluse my bmw
It doesn't take anything special for today's plastic radiators to crack. You didn't say what model year it was but it's not unusual after 10 years or so for it to develop a split. Of course higher than normal temp and excessive vibration or knocks could attribute to it also. A radiator shop can replace the plastic part using the fins from the old one.

this is for a 2002 Z3 with the M43
FAULT CODES PO170,PO301 ARE COMING
P0301 is a misfire on number one cylinder that is the rough running, as to what the source of that is will require a thorough diagnosis, it is not cut and dry and it can be a multitude of things causing the miss, start with the ignition system, poss causes are in order of how common it is
1. Defective spark plug
2. Defective ignition coil for #1 cylinder
3. Intake manifold vacuum
4. Defective fuel injector cylinder #1
5..Defective #1 fuel injector driver circuit of Powertrain control module
6.. Engine mechanical problems, low compression due to scoured cylinder or burnt valve or flat cam shaft lobe etc..
P0170
Fuel trim lean, the unburned fuel from #1 cylinder misfire going out the exhaust is causing this problem I think, but it could be be the MAF (mass airflow sensor) sensor, I suggest u isolate the problem with the #1 cylinder and repair it then clear the codes and drive it, if the light comes back on and the code P170 comes back try cleaning the MAF sensor, many times that cures the problem.

this is someone who will come to you house
this might cost a few dollars more than a regular garage but you'll save the $50 in towing fees
