your key has lost its program it just means your key is on its last leg just go to the bmw dealership they can turn the key back on for you it takes about 5min or less they should not charge you---btw you do not replace key batteries for the bmw they are rechargeble thru the ignition you just have to buy another key from the dealership when it finally calls it quits...note bmw north amercia only authorizes 10 keys to be issued per vin number if a car reaches this limit you can not get a key from the dealer ever....

Check the bulb under the engine hood. Sometimes the tilt switch goes band and the light stay's on from time to time since it's exposed to the out side. Hope that would help you.

HelloWhen the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

check the hoses going through the firewall to the heater assembly,they should be hot.there is a vacuum controlled assembly driven by the climate control assembly.check the vacuum and the cables

Many things can cause this problem, when you lock the doors the alarm is activated, why it goes off is the tough part, it could be a bad door switch or faulty alarm, testing will need to be done, i would bring it to a shop for this due to so many switches and motion sensor and alarm module.

The start battery? Or just the battery in general? Typically the 12 volt battery in a car is used to run the starter and that's it.

In your car it is in the back...yes the back, it is nowhere under the front hood so quit looking. Open the trunk, on the right side---and underneath the access panel is the battery.

Whenever this warning or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module has detected a fault, it then disables the system as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

There is one method you ca try, first ensure the car is unlocked but with the keys out of the car. then disconnect the battery for about 2hrs, overnight if possible. this should reset the car immobiliser and ECU. When putting the battery back on connect the red first then the black i that order.

If no joy get back to me I have a few oher solutions.

first off never never never trust a tow truck driver they are idiots, it takes a BMW 15 mins to go into a sleep mode before a draw can be mesured, as for the dealership they should have caught that using the Midtronics batt/alt tester that is standard from BMW 2.5 years for a batt replacement is reasonable especially in a BMW based on the high demand on the electrical system, I just replaced an alt on an M54 enginge just today so they do go bad, have them give you a print out from the midtronics with your VIN on the printout showing your alt is bad and what the batt is.
