Exhaust emission light came on a couple of days

yes can be driven with out any worries. Did the same oem plugs go in ? You can have one or more o2's that need to be replaced they dont last forever and should be treated like sparkplugs as a item to be replaced at a certain mileage your service manual might tell you when bmw suggest it. you can put it on a scanner with live data and check the operation of them they each shoul be swicthing above and below 500 rich to lean lean to rich. also live data is a easy way to look at mass air and other sensors . you can also check the cat easy way is use a temp gun check to see with the engine warmed up if there is over a 100 degree diff between in and out. you can have it hooked up to a gas ana and they can check hc co this will tell a good mechanic alot.

I need to replace the fan clutch on my 2001 bmw z3 3.0i

There are two little fasteners at the top side end of either side of the shroud. Just take a very small flat-head screwdriver and pry out the middle pin part (they are just pressed in anyway) and take the outer part. Don't lose them as they should be reusable (unlessed you monkeyed them out with channel-locks, haha). Then slide the shroud up to unhook it from the top AND bottom (note where it hooks at the bottom when you go to put it back in). The fan needs to be unbolted now so the whole thing can be slid out as one piece.

Put some nice pulleys on while you are in there!

Bmw z3 1999 how to enter my code

Enter the 5-digit Radio Code using the radios station preset buttons. After entering the fifth digit press the > button and the radio will activate. Any presets you had before the power loss will return. Apparently a capacitor in the radio holds that information

Bmw z3 alarm system problem

The alarm system is located behind your glovebox. The sensitivity portion should be mounted on the rear portion of your glovebox, while the electronic portion plugs in directly behind that. Unplug and play.

Are my tires causing my car to swerve and follow the cracks?

Usually caused by unusually wide tyres/wheels. This is called in the UK 'tramlining' and is nothing to worry about though can be disconcerting. Owing to the increased width of Z3 spec. tyres over standard tyres there is more of a tendency to follow abrupt changes in the road surface. Keep those hands at 'Ten to Two' on the steering wheel.

You have damaged the exhaust carbon trap most likely, you might try resetting the light and running it for a week and see if it clears itself, you may get lucky

Engine/exhaust emission

What symptoms are you getting when driving the car, if any at all? Sometines a loss of power can be an exhaust problem or if you find the car is revving on its own accord when ticking over this points to a sensor problem. All depends on what the problem is the price, this can actually be cheap to repair, but also expect to pay over £70 for the initial diagnostics.

Computer plug

This car is actuelly equiped with 2, and it depends on what kind of connection you have. The OBD2 connector is located on the passenger side to the left of the glove box. The other connector which is a round connector is located under the hood on the drivers side next to the abs module.... It will have a round cover over it.
