I disconeccted my battery for long term storage.
is it possible a rodent has eaten through some of the wires?
or could be that the motors that control the seat and the top drew moisture and rusted. also, I would check the fuses for the malfunctioning items. as for the radio code, you'll probably have to contact the manufacturer

I changed the carpet in my 2000 bmw z3 2.3 and it wont start
Hi! I suspect a faulty fuel pump and you may need to replace it. The carpet installation has no relationship on the fuel pump getting broke so you dont have to worry. It just happened that your fuel pump that day. Hope this helps and have a good one!

WHAT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID IS NEEDED FOR 2000
On the manual the fluid is "lifetime" BMW MTF LT-1, SOME models used ATF. There is a plate on the side of the transmission that will give what your particular model was filled with.
On the automatic the fluid type should be printed on the "type plate" on the side of the transmission
both are usually Dexronn III ATF, but please check your plate!!!

1997 BMW Z3 dash lights very dim especially radio
Check your dimmer switch. Over time dust and grime deposits develop in the switch hardware and cause additional resistance across the brightness settings available.
Replacement is a snap provided you have the right tools, the correct part and about 30 minutes of time available. Your local dealership should have it in stock.
Pry the small panel that encircles the switch, remove the switch, disconnect it. You may or may not have to reuse the switch knob (If you have to reuse it, it can be release by pressing the spring button on the back of the switch(if applicable)) Connect the new switch, mount it, replace the panel, you should be good to go.
Good Luck!

What does exhaust emission valve light on the bmw
This means that your car has registered a problem with the exhaust
emission. This generally means that your car is either running too rich
or too lean as a consequence of another problem. This can be caused by a
large number of faults from an air leak in the intake system to a hole in the
exhaust system or even an oxigen sensor problem.
This particular car is famous for a rubber crankcase breather hose at
the back of the block persishing letting in unmetered air. The hose runs
from the back of the rocker cover to a small disc shaped diaphragm on
the underside of the inlet manifold. This diapragm is also prone to
failure and sometimes can be identified by a hissing noise when the
engine is switched off.
Failing this, you will have to have the engine management fault codes
read to narrow down the problem. This engine is generally inexpensive to repair due to it's good
reliability.
Just got the car read on the machine and there are two faults, it may be
the exhuast, so they got to check the exhaust system or it may be the
02 sensor.
Hope help with this (remember rated ths help). Good luck.

Car mat on pasengers side is soaking wet is the
your drain plug under the floor is a rubber plug and it could have came out, to look for it look under your car on pass. side floor board and check to see if the plug fell out. Also this happens when the seel on the lower corner of the winsheild is not seeled or is missing some of the windsheild caulk in that corner. This happened to my car and it was the corner of the windsheild causing the problem. Hope this helps you and good luck.

Bmw z3 alarm system problem
The alarm system is located behind your glovebox. The sensitivity portion should be mounted on the rear portion of your glovebox, while the electronic portion plugs in directly behind that. Unplug and play.

Cannot take off seats of BMW Z3
There are 4 bolts holding all car seats if you can get at least 2 off than you should be alright as long as you can squees a hacksaw or dremel to be able to cut along the seat rail that will remove the seat so you have access to the other 2.

The window is stuck down
the only way is to remove the door panel and unbolt the window from the window track and then wedge it up with something. or if you are good with electrical i can walk you through a test to find ot if the motor or the switch is bad. if it is the switch we can jump it and get the window up. if it is the motor my first option is the only way! also one thing that work sometimes is banging the bottom of the inside of the door towards the front whie holding the window switch up and you may get it to go up one last time or get it to work for a while!
let me know if you want me to walk you throug the test. you will need a test light and two jumper wires! good luck
