the labor to remove and install pump is the same for new or used.. I would buy a new pump however it is your money.

I have two ideas on this. Have you disconnected the battery or had it drain flat recently? It may be the anti-theft immobilizer, and needs resetting. The answer is No to both questions. The security system and immobilizer is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do, start the car without the correct credentials. You can't reprogram computers (ECM and BCM) and the security modules and sensors. You have to fix the issue not find away around it. Hello. Either your B.M.W. doesn't have a return fuel line or, if it does, that line is blocked/restricted. The latter isn't likely because the engine might 'flood' with gas, making it hard to start/run. Keep me informed; if you want to.
