you need to check that you have spark and fuel getting to the engine!
Then if your missing fuel it could be a faulty fuel pump. If your missing spark it could be the ignition coil.

Ok so my battery is dead all doors wont unluck i

If the battery is just weak and not shorted, you could connect a battery charger to the + cable and find a ground to hook the other clamp to & your battery would slow charge & should be usable after a while. You must verify that the wire you are hooking into is a + battery wire to prevent any damage. I suggest you go for the cable from underneath, pierce the cable by pushing in a small nail & hook your charger/jumper to that nail. The charger should indicate charging once connected & you can simply put a piece of tape over the hole you put in the + battery cable to seal it later.
Hope that helps. good luck.

Where do i find the transmission dipstick at

There isn't one. To check the transmission fluid level there is a plug that you must remove. The fluid should be to the level of the threads. I need to change the oil on my 94 BMW 740IL. How

Changing oil in the BMW 740iL is no different than other cars. If you are not comfortable with this find a trusted German Automotive mechanic to do it for you.
You will need a large socket to remove the oil filter housing cover. The BMW tool is expensive. You can use large channel lock pliers with a smooth jaw or place a small strip of cardboard (like cereal box) over the teeth on regular pliers so you don't damage the cover.

I need to change the oil on my 94 BMW 740IL.

Depends how competent you are here and what sort of tools you have. You will also need to replace oil filter if you wish to replace oil within the engine. The oil has to be drained from underneath the engine and allow it to sit for few hours while draining as this will ensure all the deposits at the bottom comes off.

Where do you hook up the jumper cables to 1994

Your batteries in the trunk right?

There should be a positive (red) post under your hood that should be surrounded by an inch of plastic. That is the positive connector that runs to your battery. Then connect the negative clamp anywhere on to the frame of the car where there's metal (not on the engine)

My key will open my trunk, but not unlock my doors or start my car.

Open the trunk. Take out the trunk lid light - take the bulb out of the fixture. Place a 12 volt battery in the trunk. Take an alligator clip jumper wire - connect one end to the negative terminal of the battery and the other end of the jumper wire to the car chassis - make sure it is a good connection and is not on a painted surface - I place mine on a bolt on the rear light panel. Take another alligator clip jumper wire and connect one end to the 12 volt positive terminal and connect the other end to the short end of the light connectors (there are two connectors for the light - one is short and one is long). This should give you enough voltage to unlock the doors. I had to figure this out and have used it twice on my BMW.

Check out this link. It is to RealOEM and will provide you the BMW product codes and descriptions you need to find the replacement harness, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GF63&mospid=47526&btnr=12_0585&hg=12&fg=28

Also, the link below is to provide you schematics for your engine wiring harnesses. You did not indicate which engine you had (diesel or gas). The link provides access to schematics for both engines. http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/e38old/index.htm From the main menu, select: Drive, then your engine and then select engine electrical system. As far as the cause, you didn't mention what the source of the fire was. Check online for recall notices for your specific model. A google search will yield several links to sites that list recalls for yyour vehicle. It will let you know if there are any known issues regarding engine compartment fires for your model....

Hi , you can initialise the key yourself. Ensure you get into the car and close all doors, Insert the ignition key and turn on the ignition lights , do not start the engine, while the key is still in the ignition press and hold the lock button and remove the key from the ignition , while still holding down the lock button press the unlock button 3 times and release the lock button, the central locking should now lock and unlock, to initiate other keys just hold the lock button and press the unlock 3 times , you do not have to insert the other key into the ignition , you may need to practise this a few times , hope this helps, regards mark .
