93 bmw 325i series, water dipping from behind tranmissionrun hot
- SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED A HEAD JOB. CRACKED HEAD OR NEED A HEAD GASKET. CHECK YOUR ENGINE OIL IF IT HAS WATER IN IT OR IF WATER IS LEAKING OUT OF TAIL MUFFLER ITS A CRACKED HEAD. IF NOT ITS HEAD GASKET. ANOTHER THING WHICH COULD BE IS FIRST MAKE SURE THAT THE WATER PUMP IS NOT LEAKING WATER CUZ IF IT IS THEN IT WILL BE THAT. SOMETIMES RUNNING YOUR VEHICLE WITH A BROKE WATER PUMP HEATS UP ENGINE CAUSING HEADS TO CRACK WHEN FILLING WITH WATER BUT USUALLY THE HEAD GASKET GOES FIRST. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Air flow meter
you need an airflow meter. unplug the airflow meter start up your car it should still be the same. this action wont damage your car. hence telling u that when plugged in there is no differance.
When it gets really wet or goes through drive
You need to change your HT leads and your distributor cap. When they get old they are very prone to allow moisture to penatrate and cause the leads and cap to ark causing poor running and starting. Try spraying a moisture repellent (WD40) on the leads and cap then run thru the car wash see if it helps. Good luck.
I have 93 bmw 325i how romove the fan clutch
you need the fan clutch stick tool. To see what one looks like google: BMW fan clutch removal tool. Then make one out of steel. All you need is a 5/16 drill bit and a grinder. or buy one. Then get a 1.25" open end wrench, it's virtually the same as a 32mm open end wrench except cheaper and slightly more common. With your new found clutch stick, hold two of the bolt heads on the water pump pulley and grab the nut with the wrench. It's left hand thread. So to loosen it, move it clockwise while holding the pulley still with the stick. When re-installing, use anti sieze compound. The whole job takes 3 minutes with the right tool.
I have a bmw 320i and when i start it its fine but
The first thing to do would be to check the coolant level, then make sure the fan clutch locks up when it gets hot,if coolant is full then start the car and run it until it starts running hot then feel both radiator hoses and see if both top and bottom hoses are hot this will tell you if tstat is opening, if only the top is hot then start with a thermostant, also make sure all fan belts are on and not very loose, i've found some of these older bmw's to have bad head gaskets that make them run hot, start with the test ,and check level first.
Engine won't start
Test the battery first(make sure it's charged 100%)
There is single wire , not a fat cable , on the starter ,
disconnect it , then use test light , connect it to that wire on one side and ground on the other side.
Turn ign. key to start position and watch the light , if it's on - starter is bad , if it's off - ignition switch no good.
