I have a 89 BMW
open doors ,, remove batt cable for 2-3 mins (with doors open) Hook batt cable back up unlock doors with switch (while still open ..shut doors try key first lock then unlock !!

unhooking your battery is not good on your computer mostly bmw because of all the components in your system are computer control so unhooking your battery is not a good idea..anyways you might check your owners manual it should have code..
Does a 1993 BMW 318i have a timing belt or a timing chain?
Hi some of them have a belt but yours being the M43 engine is a chain, the only thing to listen for with them is chain slap or an rattling around the chain area, a bit of research on the M43 engine also shows that the chain should be changed after 100000 miles as they become weak, Just joined here and found this unsolved i know its a bit late but hope the extra info helps
#1 cylender not firing
If it's only one cylinder that's not firing it's more likely that the HT lead (or spark plug wire, depending where you come from) is open circuit. Try replacing the leads before you go any further, hopefully that will solve your problem. You can test the lead resistance with an ohmmeter (allow for max 12000 ohms per 12 inches), but the problem could be that the lead is shorting to earth somewhere, which won't show up with a resistance test.

Everytime it rains really hard
I have the same problem with my 91' 318. Water is coming in from the outside air intake at the base of the front windshield, under the black vent covers. If the basin fills up, water enters the vent system throught the outside air intake. Solution: there is a drain line at the fire wall, easily accessible between the firewall and engine block. It drains water from the basin. It becomes clogged with dirt, and prevents water from draining. However, after further inspection of mine I noticed that during periods of HEAVY rain, even a clean drain line is inadequate to drain that volume of water and the same happens. See attached link. check the fuel filter, more info, such as is the engine cranking or not? How long did you crank? 10 seconds or longer

I need to do the same thing to mine and it's currently being converted by a mechanic. I've been told that it's easy to do and fairly cheap. I can let you know what it requires when I get my car back...that is if someone doesn't answer this question before I get back to you.
Steering wheel logo center piece replacement BMW
if you can find a replacement logo you can super glue it back on but they probably dont sell just the logo so youll have to replace it with a new airbag which will have the logo already on it. (just another way to get money from you is all).
