I figured my license plate lights were burned out, so I replaced them today, They still don't work. I checked all the fuses...the cig lighter fuse was burned out...replaced it, still no plate lights. Did I miss a fuse?
thanx
Jim
Probably not... For some reason license plate light wiring and sockets are VERY prone to corrosion. Make sure to check the light sockets and try to get to the wiring close to them, your problem is more than likely very close to the lights.

The lights behind one of my radio controls is out how can I fix this?
If this is the lights for the switches in the steering wheel, these are LED's. The switches are made in such a way that it is prudent to replace the switch rather than try to take it apart and replace the LED. The switches are relatively inexpensive and are very easy to replace. While the LED's are rather inexpensive, the time that it would take to get the switch apart, replace the LED and then attempt to put it all back together is not worth the twenty to thirty bucks for a new switch.
I have replaced three of the four that are in my steering wheel. The hardest part to the whole thing is making the wiring connection in the back of the switch for the two large ones on the center crossbar. My fingers aren't quite slim enough to make the connection easily. I found using a pair of hemostats or some type of thin clamp with a handle works very well.

Truck seems to have a noise in the left front end only while turning, breaking, and driving over normal road bumps. If driving on smoth surfaces no noise is apparent.
No rough service on this vehicle, no hauling or plowing just normal driving and towing of Camper, never hit a curb or had an accident. Is this the norm for this vehicle. Searched the web for similar problems. no history.
I will be rotating tire soon. Will check upper and lower ball joint, stabilizers and shocks. Any suggestions? Another owner of the same model year had an issue with the steering box on his truck. This like my issue could be related or just an isolated incident. Where do suggest I go to find similar such issues with 2005 GMC 1/2 ton pickup? I've been a truck owner for years and never had an front end issue on a vechicle with such low mileage. Of course anything is possible with the way GMC designs new trucks.
drive shaft coupling ,check the rubber boot hasnt isnt split letting the dirt in as it sounds like it.better off with a real car like a jag

I have been told its just a fuse to take out but i do not know which one the van is 2005 ex royal mail van
The speed-limiter is likely to be enabled via the ECU. Removing the limiter is a five-minute job if you have access to the GM Tech 2 electronic management/diagnostic tool.
If the van is yours then there's no legal requirement for the limiter. You could just book it in at a Vauxhall dealer for the limiter to be removed. They may charge you for an hour's labour though. Still worth doing in my opinion.

I'm having a problem with this truck overheating. The truck is a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 2 WD 5.3L V-8. So far we replaced the the water pump and the thermostat but the truck still overheats quickly. Also, when we run the heater it does not blow hot air but the gauge is running 230-260. I've noticed other people having similar issues...any help would be most appreciated..
hate to ask but did you put the thermostat in rightside up ? and someone else might be right did you bleed the system and get the air out of it? sometimes there is a air lock that will drive you crazy.. another thing when you replaced the water pump did it heat up before you changed it ?? if so did you put right gaskets on it for correct flow.. ? thanks Jerry if you have more holler

vauxhall combo van, the spanner light comes on and stays on when ignition is switched on, and the mileage stays illuminated at all times even when the key is removed, just bought van any clues, drives well no problems noticed but light is of concern, ex bt van so can't contact previous owner for advice of when it started or of fault is fixed and code not removed.
help please
andy
Can mean many things, automatic gearbox, emissions problems and if it flashes, it is an immobilizer fault. The car can be driven, if running ok but the engine management system should be checked ASAP. You will need EOBD diagnostic equipment to find cause. vauxhall can check this 4 u but it will cost u £47 unfortuanely but 4 that price u can get the diagnostic reader ur self the port is under the ash tray or the cover below the hand brakeRAC.htm">http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7402742/Trail/searchtext>RAC.htm

How does one go about replacing daytime running lights on a 2005 gmc sierra. I can see the bulb socket from engine compartment but appears really hard to get to. Is there an easy way to remove socket in order to replace bulb or is it just something one must muscle through?
Open the hood, and in the top right and left corners of the primary headlamps you'll see two pins (L shaped) swing them out (towards the front of the truck) and lift out. This allows you to remove the upper headlamp assembly. You can then remove the lower assembly by pushing outwards on the plastic clip that is hooked into a metal clip. Once it's out you just turn the bulb to remove it.
It's much easier if you unhook the leads to the upper assembly's bulbes so you can set the whole thing aside.

how to adjust hand break on vauxhall combo van
jack car up ,remove the wheels then take a brake drum off and clean the shoes off and make sure wheel cylinder is free on both pistons ,then clean the rusty lip off with a small angle grinder ,then adjust the shoes up with the automatic adjuster so when drum is replaced it just slides over the shoes and they can be heard to just scuff the drum when turned ,tap around the outside of the drum and check for rubbing noise again if none heard then adjust shous up another click on the auto adjuster .slacken handbrake cable off before you start though so its right back ,then when shoes are adjusted correctly adjust cable till you have 3 clicks on the handbrake ,the cable adjuster is under or at the back of the handbrake lever ,

2005 GMC Sierra 1500 4.8l 55k miles. Blower works in all heat settings, just no hot/warm air. Driver and passenger sides are the same. Feel little to no difference when moving the temp sliders from cold to hot. Is this a fuse/relay problem?
Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.
