Glove box latch is broken cant open it want to
Guess what? Volkwagen makes you buy the entire glove box assembly, including lock and door in gray, black or beige for around $145. No way to fix the latch because it is encased in sealedand glued plastic. Good luck! Mine just broke, also.
Timing belt broke did it
This engine has been identified as an interference engine in which the possibility of valve to piston damage in the event of timing belt failure is most likely to occur, when repairing I would also replace water pump, due to pump is timing belt driven. On an 2002 VW Jetta TDI 1.9L engine, VW recommends timing belt replacement every 80,000 miles.
Hard start problem- 2004 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
There is a volkswagen Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that addresses this issue. It involves
1. having the ECM reflashed to a newer version and
2. modifying the wiring harness to the ECM.
the problem is that the emgine speed sensor feedback wire has its shield wire tied to the signal ground in the harness, it needs to be changed to be terminated separately to the ECM. The ECM reflash remaps a ground to the newly used pin. What happens is electrical noise giving "improbable signal" to computer. This happens in the morning, and with wet weather on my car. Throws a code 32. Do a google search and you can probably find this bulletin (TSB)
(there is also a service bulletin on the glowplugs, VW no longer makes the ceramic, so if you replace them, they will only have the metal ones (which don't crack); the only problem is that the voltage is different for these plugs, so the ECM has to be reprogrammed to change the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to provide a lower voltage to the plugs, lest you burn them up. If you are going to reprogram the ECM, you may as well do it with the latest version that includes this Glow Plug fix, it includes the wiring remap, and you can probably do the rewire yourself, (the TSB has step by step instructions with photos to do this)
Have fun.
How can you bypass an antitheft system on a 2002 tdi jetta?
If it is not a new key fob, it sounds to me like the immobilizer is activated. So, all the lights on the dash are working now? Is there a flashing key on the dash lights? One of the resets that works is put the key fob in, and turn ignition on without starting it, and leave it 15 minutes. And try again.

My epc light went on in my 2002 volkswagen jetta
Take it to the dealer, the EPC warning light - and even more the failsafe run which doesn't allow you drive faster than 20mph) is an indication of serious motor troubles. They can read the ECU faultcodes, which should be a good startingpoint for troubleshooting the cause ...
You could do some basic troubleshooting like checking the air filter, the oil level, the spark plugs, etc. You didn't fill it up with bad gas, did you ? And does the engine make strange noises/vibration when running idle ? In case you fixed some obvious cause, you can dis- and reconnect the battery to erase the engine's faultcode. If it's not fixed, the EPC (and failsafe run) will simply come on again.
My advice would be not to drive it untill it's fixed to prevent more potential damage.
